More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I'm leaning more towards vegan at home but I still eat veggie when out and about. I was never interested in animals at all until I got a cat on a whim - in the two years I've known him, I've come to understand that animals are as complex, intelligent and emotive as we are (he's a pretty good cat).

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I have no veggie friends, so wanted to become part of my local veg community. Food is pretty much my number one interest, so I may as well put all my eating, shopping and restaurant-snooping to good use.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

My favourite place in the universe is Cornwall, closely followed by Holy Island in Northumberland. I would love to one day visit Hawai'i, land of Spam.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

I love... sweet potatoes, avocados, brown rice, kale, pumpkin seeds, peanut butter, bananas, halloumi cheese, beans, coconut oil, oats, dates, asparagus, broccoli, nectarines, melon, strawberries and mushrooms. And chips.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer Currently ploughing through and loving The China Study by Dr T. Colin Campbell
