10 Vegan / Vegetarian Friendly Restaurants
3501 Way, Muscat, Oman
Cuisine: Lacto, Indian, Indo-chinese
Vegetarian Indian restaurant in Muscat. A hotel restaurant offers meals of the day. It seems to be part of (or used to be part of) the Dosa Plaza chain. Has many options for vegans, as the staff seem to understand the concept of avoiding dairy, but be clear to say what you don't eat, not just that you are a vegan.

Ghala Service Road, Rex Road, Ruwi (at / near Azaiba R/A), Muscat, Oman
Cuisine: Vegan-friendly, Lacto, Chinese, Indian, Fast food, Juice bar, Delivery, Take-out
Vegetarian food restaurant. Located behind Al Turki office and opposite Al Masa Hall. Confirmed open (after renovations) Jan 2014.
Al Washal Street, Muscat, Oman
Cuisine: Lacto, Indian, Take-out
Vegetarian Indian restaurant in the Ruwi area of Muscat. Not all staff understand the concept of avoiding dairy, so vegans should stick to ordering well known South Indian vegan dishes, such as dosa, vada and uttahpam. The dosa and chaat are only available at breakfast (7:30 am until ?) but definitely not available from 12:00 pm). Coffee and tea can be made without milk (ask for black coffee and black tea), but seem to always come pre-sweetened. Very inexpensive prices. Address is approximate - no street numbers. It is on the same side of the street as the Mutrah Hotel, and maybe two blocks toward the market, away from Mutrah High Street. Very small, with a hand-written sign about being pure-veg.
