The upper is made of Italian vegan leather with a rich finish that you can polish to keep them looking new. ### Built to be resoled Goodyear welt construction is one of the most respected methods in shoemaking. The upper, lining and welt are stitched together, then the sole is stitched to the welt, building the shoe up in many more stages than a standard glued shoe. This traditional method takes up to eight weeks, 75 parts and over 200 operations to make a single pair. The rubber outsoles have a standard, grippy profile and can be replaced by stitching a new sole to the welt, so most cobblers can resole these loafers easily. ### Comfort inside and underfoot The shoes are lined with Portuguese vegan suede, soft and breathable against the foot, whether you wear them with or without socks. Underfoot, a memory foam insole sits over a traditional cork bed, poured into the shoe and moulding to your foot over time, so they get more comfortable the more you wear them. A TPU shank provides stability and support through the arch and is metal-free, so you can wear them through metal detectors. ### Ready for everyday wear Breathable and water-resistant for everyday wear, these loafers keep you dry in rain, puddles, wet streets and most winter conditions. Just avoid heavy saturation or full submersion.
