The buckle is a clean ring with no frame edges to break the curve. The prong runs across the centre of the ring rather than hanging from a bar, so the shape reads as a full circle when fastened. At 4 cm, the strap is wide enough to hold a line across the waist of a dress or an oversized shirt, and it works as easily through belt loops as it does over a layer. Handmade in Portugal, the strap is made from two layers of Italian vegan leather, bonded face to face and then stitched through. This gives the strap its thickness and weight in the hand, while staying soft and flexible enough for everyday wear. The edges are skived down before they are closed, so the strap tapers at the sides rather than sitting square, and the strap and keeper are double-stitched along their length. The solid, polished gold buckle is made from nickel-free metal and set on a folded and stitched end, offering both elegance and comfort.
