Odd texture but tasty - Edit
This is the first and only vegan kebab I've ever had, but I was quite surprised by how crumbly the Vöner is. Given that it is seitan, I would have expected a chewier, more 'familiar' texture, but I suppose that's the trade-off for having a roasting spit for a gimmick.
Read moreThe Vöner was otherwise well-seasoned with herbs and spices, although a touch salty. However, the chips that it came with were crunchy and delicious, and were topped with a tasty sprinkling of paprika, and the salad came with a light vinaigrette to balance out the saltiness of the kebab.
I would say that the dish worked well as a whole, especially with the chili tomato (which was not very spicy) and garlic tahini sauces. At €7 for the entire dish, it was very good value for money.
As for the service, there was nothing to complain about - the girl who served me was friendly and the food came promptly.
I would probably visit again if I had the chance, just to get a cheap, filling, and tasty vegan meal.

I have to agree with other commenters that the döner alone doesn't have the best flavor but with the sauce it was absolutely amazing! I'd go back. Plus everything is vegan and inexpensive so can't complain!

The doner vegan meat had a good texture and flavour however the pitta bread was fried flatbread and I couldn't really taste the garlic tahini or tomato chilli sauces. Very greasy.

The original seitan Döner? - Edit
I tested the Vöner at the green market festival in June 2018 and this is great street food. Fresh bread, fresh vegetables, seitan slices and garlic sauce in abundance for very good price. Even though I'm not a huge fan of seitan kebab I'm impressed by the quality and price of the Vöner, awesome!!

Ich liebe komplett vegane Läden! Der Döner hat mir persönlich gut geschmeckt, die Bedienung war sehr nett und die Musik gut. Einziger Grund, warum ich keinen 5. Stern gebe: die Dönerstreifen waren echt zu dick abgeschnitten und dann so geballt geschmacklich nicht der Hit. Geht da noch was? :D

It’s more of a marketing thing: having the normal döner and changing the ‘meat’. But since the meat in a Döner is very important, it seems that the meat alternative here is not. Good idea but even 5 euros is too much. Staff is good though.

I wasn't wowed by the food here, but it was a great and filling lunch and I liked the punk atmosphere and music. You aren't going to have your mind blown in a culinary sense, and I had better vegan doner kebap elsewhere in the city (won't say where, you should support this place if you are in the neighborhood!), but it's a comfortable place to hang out. If you want to be filled up with something delicious and you are wandering around Friedrichshain, I would urge you to check out Vöner.

... the first time I was here during my first visit in Berlin, and that was the first time I had any vegan kebab version. And it was amazing then, though the personel was rather uncaring. Allthough that really fit the punky trashy fastfood feel of the place (something I personally like).
Read moreNow this time many years after, and having had vegan food evolve so vegan kebab is available in my own town, I ordered a vönner-telller, so vönner, fries and sallad no bread.
The vönner was quite dry and did not have much taste, thankfully the sauce was good to it. The fries was really good though (and there was malt-vineager available) as was the sallad. I found the staff friendlier then I wuld think at a place like this, in fact I might see they overall was friendly.
So vönner not so good, all other things good.
Pros: Good fries, friendly staff, nice punky atmosphere
Cons: Vönner taste average and some really dry hard bits, Not much space

I ordered the kebab sandwich and I was surprised at how big it was when I finally got my order. It was enough to be an entire meal of its own. The taste was amazing and if I didn't know better I would've never guessed that it was vegan. I really recommend this place when visiting Berlin. They make awesome burgers too.

I had the döner wrap and don’t get me wrong, it was quite tasty and good value for money, but based on my one experience visiting, I would not take a non-vegan here to demonstrate how good vegan food can be. Cooking the seitan on a spit is a good gimmick, but the wrap lacked flavour and it’s also worth mentioning the staff member serving was quite rude to us. But maybe this isn’t the case usually.

I loved that I could try a Vegan Döner, but it was missing the kale and Saurkraut that döner kebabs are know for and which is what makes them sooo good normally. The "meat" was just unflavoured seitan, so that eas a bit disappointing. The Frenchfries looked and smelled really good though (the neighbouring table bought some).

I would eat here everyday if I could. Everything I have had is delicious, it’s cheap, it’s quick, and the place has a nice atmosphere. Only tiny downside is that it is a small place, if it’s very busy you might struggle to get a seat
