Yesterday for Mother's Day we were out with our fur kids and had heard there was outdoor seating at Violette's, so we decided to give it a try. Try being the operative word :/ I went in to ask if we could sit on outside with our fur kids and was told sure no problem, yay win win for me! The place was packed inside and it smelled great, a real nice homey atmosphere. Lots of families with kids and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. Since we were sitting outside I decided to save them the trouble of coming outside so I went up to order our food. Once outside we noticed the table was splattered with food, no problem I went to the restroom got something to clean off the table (after all they were very busy). Once seated we noticed little flys on our table, we moved to another table same thing. My husband went in and asked if they could light the candles on the table (hoping they were citronella) no one came. I finally asked them to cancel our order and we would come back another time when we did not have the fur kids with us. So at 9pm I went home and cooked (ugggh) I doubt I will get my husband to go back to actually try the food as he feels we were not treated as well as the patrons sitting inside and he was a little pissed that I had to clean the table myself. A tip for the restaurant owner, if you are going to have outdoor dining then treat it as an extension of the indoor area, clean the tables and make provisions for the bugs that were attracted to the over lighting above the tables. In this case I think having citronella candles on the tables would have worked fine. I know it's not easy getting a new restaurant up and running but the details are what people remember.

My fiance and I went here for the first time. We sat our selves and as we were waiting to be greeted a few more customers came in. Please tell me why they were greeted first? I was okay. Maybe they called ahead? Idk. Some time went by and our order was finally taken! A while after we ordered a smoothie which took about 25-30 minutes. It was busy but c'mon for a smoothie? More people came into the restaurant and another server came on shift. Guess what? Their food came out before our food!!!!! I was livid! I asked our server where our food was? She ran to the kitchen and a minute later came out with our food. She blamed the delay on the kitchen. I work in the service industry. I know for a fact it was not the kitchens fault. We finally begin to eat and I'm not going to lie. The food was amazing! I don't think we'll be going back though. The wait was way too long, and the fact that the customers who arrived there after us got their food first was ridiculous!! Two stars ONLY for the food. (:
