The food was actually really quite nice. I had blackbean pudding followed by Beyond sausage and mash. I also had a Karma Kola and a tumeric latte. Shortly after finishing the sausage and mash I felt extremely bloated and had to rush to the disabled toilets to vomit.

The waitress asked if the meal was OK so rather than making a scene in front of other diners I took her to one side to let her know what had happened to me. She thanked me for telling her and went off to speak to the kitchen staff. She came back shortly after, said all the food was in-date so we asked for the bill. I was a little taken aback when I was charged the full amount. I paid it all because I didn't want to make a spectacle of ourselves and we had somewhere else to go.

I cannot recommend this restaurant in any way. The fact that the food made me vomit is a massive issue but that the staff did not make any effort to make up for the problem. I have been to other restaurants where the meal was delayed and we weren't charged. I have checked back on the google reviews now, I should have done this before we booked. There are several mentions of poor hygeine at Salford Quays Vertigo so maybe the issues are linked.

To be fair, my wife was perfectly fine. Although she had a different meal she did have a small amount of my food and I had a little of hers. She was fine apart from feeling a little bloated later on. However, vomiting your food back up is not a risk you should have to take when you go out for a meal so I would advise people to avoid this place.
