buena opcion - Edit

El menú es variado y la pizza es muy rica, lo único es que el servicio aunque son amables es un poco lento incluso sin tener mucha gente y más si estás en la parte de arriba parece que se olvidan de ti y si se te ofrece algo de plano tienes que bajar a preguntar

MUST visit - so much choice! - Edit

This was such a good find - I must thank the Happy Cow community for recommending and reviewing VegAmo MX. I loved it so much I returned the next day for more. I felt very much at home here.

Helpful staff. There is a wide choice on the menu (and they have an English menu if you don't speak Spanish). Breakfast, brunch, lunch... you'll find a decent option here.

I sat upstairs and was able to re-charge my phone whilst chatting to other customers enjoying the delicious vegan fare. I had the hot cakes on my first visit (delicious with all the fruit it comes with) and the Choco-waffles on my second visit the next day and both were delicious. The choice of drinks is also excellent and they have a variety of non-dairy mylks available.

Definitely give VegAmo MX a visit - you won't regret it.

Pros: Wide selection and choice, Great space and vibe, Friendly and helpful staff.

Cons: Watch the stairs - they are trickier coming down!

Amazing and cool place! - Edit

A super tiny (wich I love) vegan place. They know a lot about the food they are serving and are happy to awnser your questions. They speak good English.
We ate from the breakfast menu and had a smoothie and 2 pieces of ‘cheescake’ too.
Everything tasted great, the ‘cheesecake’ is very creamy.
If it wasn’t our last day in CDMX we would go there again. Will be back next year for sure...

Thank you guys for the warm welcome and great atmosphere! Keep it up.

Pros: Plenty of choices, Cheap, Cool place

the face of new vegan CDMX - Edit

Just adding to the chorus of love for this place, it's just what the neighborhood needed and really is a great concept for the space. Nice outdoor area, limited but comfortable seating inside. Great vegan comfort food options – looking forward to going back and trying what I missed.

Pros: fantastic, delicious, great location

A must visit in CDMX - Edit

I've been in Mexico City for five days now and this was BY FAR the best food I've tasted in the city. As a vegan who doesn't speak Spanish it has been very overwhelming and discouraging trying to order and explain what vegan means, even with key words translated from English to Spanish.

When I walked into Vegamo I was greeted and asked if I would like a English or Spanish menu (amazing!) The restaurant was relatively empty so I was lucky enough to enjoy the top floor to myself with a great view of the street and an adorable dog saying hello to everyone who passed by. Many people came and went to take orders to go and I spent over an hour enjoying my meal and delicious house made Limonada. The atmosphere was cozy and comforting in such a busy city. The staff spoke English and were very welcoming and friendly. I hadn't had a chance to connect with anyone about veganism since I arrived so it was great to joke about people's silly thoughts about vegan eating fish, chicken, cheese, etc.

As I said, I ordered the Limonada to drink and I thought the pizza would be a good choice. They advise on their menu that certain items take longer to make, and the pizza was about 25 minutes. Time flew by and the wait wasn't a problem. The veggie pizza was incredible! The amount of veggies was amazing (nine different vegetables), the sauce, crust, everything perfecto. I ordered a Pad Thai and pesto pasta to go as well as there isn't anything close to my hotel that is vegan. They are beautiful and I can't wait to try them. Everything I ordered came to only 311 pesos, amazingly affordable with such quality to the food!

This restaurant deserves much more than five stars, it was an eleven for me. Mucho gracias!

Pros: English menus, English speaking staff, Very affordable prices

pretty good depending on what you order - Edit

I got the chilaquiles and I really liked it, but my bf got a burrito that was lacking in flavor and a little too “health food store”. Cool space though.

vegan paradise - Edit

Wished I had come here earlier, not just shortly before my departure.
I would have tried at least 5 more dishes... like this I only had chance to try the quinoa burrito and a raw banana-choco-peanut cake.
Simply delicious!
Come, try, come again and try more!

Pros: delicious, plenty of options, all vegan, cool place

Cons: NONE!!!

Simply delicious! - Edit

I literally fell in love with this place. I had the vegan falafel burger and my friend had the pizza and they were both amazing. Not to mention the raw vegan macadamia cheesecake, oh my god I am still dreaming about it :D I mean, I am vegan for a long time but these were some of the most delicious dishes I ever had. On top of that, the service is super friendly and the prices are very good. I am definitely going back there whenever I can.

delicious once it opens - Edit

It opens a little late for being a breakfast cafe but worth the wait. There's a lot to see in the area so it wasn't an issue keeping busy while it opened. The service was attentive and the food was amazing. It was my first vegan restaurant in a foreign country so I was excited. Vegamo did not disappoint, I would return.

Pros: delicious food and reasonable prices

Cons: not enough seating but they're quick

Amazing desserts but not sure about some of the other menu items - Edit

I have been here several times. Yes the desserts (the pies) are insanely good. i tried the oreo pie, lemon chocolate pie, triple chocolate pie. Best pies i have ever had.

but the rest of the menu is not executed properly. they try and use fresh ingredients like flaxseed in place of processed flours but the result is tough, hard or dense waffles, omelettes, etc.

lunch burrito: loaded with quinoa. there was come kind of chipotle sauce which was good.

falafel burger : okay. bread was very dry. pattie was okay didn't have much flavor. baked potatoes were okay

hot cakes: dense...greasy

waffle made with flaxseed" dense, greasy. nutella had an odd taste

omelette made with garbanzo beans: dense, not great texture.
pasta pesto was perfect

i love foods made with wholesome fresh ingredients but execution wise some of their dishes are not 100% there yet. i will try the menu one more time and
update my review if necessary.
excellent prices compared to vegan restaurants in Tulum and Playa del carmen

Great place - Edit

We visited VegAmo MX twice in our week in Mexico City. On the first trip we had breakfast, chocolate and banana waffles, apple and cinnamon waffles and chickpea omelette which were all huge and tasty. On the second trip we had lunch two bagels one burger. The pale pink bagels (beetroot, I guess) were so good, so fresh tasting and full of flavour. The also serve some interest drinks smoothies, lemon chia and an amazing cinnamon flavour iced milky (non-dairy) drink that I can't remember the name of but highly recommended. Small clean and quirky place with seating for about 20 and friendly staff.

Pros: Fresh tasting, Interesting menu

A Must for Vegans in Mexico City - Edit

The restaurant is small and charming, service is friendly and several speak great english. It is a short walk from the Art Museum and Diego Rivera Mural Museum. Close to the Balderas and Hildago Metro.

The menu is incredible, there are many options. I wanted to stay all day and eat! I wish I found this place earlier in my visit.

Matcha Smoothie is delicious. And the quinoa burrito is filling. Portions are perfect and the price is great. Treat yourself to a raw cheesecake.

Vegan Place in Mexico City, Mexico - Edit

So many high hopes for this place, because most importantly it is ALL vegan. I should have ordered a traditional Mexican plate a la vegan but instead chose wrong and went for the waffles. Great presentation but sadly they were over done and were close to the consistency of a brick. It was so hard- wah! Luckily mama got a traditional meal that just happened to be a lot of food and I was able to enjoy it. Place was super cute and staff was informed and friendly. Sadly another con was that people were smoking outside enjoying their coffee so the air inside would get contaminated-yes I'm respectful of everyone's life- but let's be respectful of others and not smoke so close to people eating; these are different times.

Pros: ALL vegan food, Super cute place, Friendly and informative staff

Cons: Waffles over done, Smoke from the street would creep into the small s

Quaint, great staff, great food, central. - Edit

Update: the hours are correct as of this week.

A quaint little restaurant with seating on the ground floor and in a cozy half-loft. This is a very safe area, just off a busy tourist/historical/art area.

Conveniently located a short walk from Place des Artes - so a few blocks from Metro Bellas Artes or Hidalgo (both on Blue line). Contrary to the HC map, it is on the opposite end of the park. Place des Artes faces Av Juarez. Walk west down Juarez towards the other end of the park (away from the Zona Colonial). At the end of the park you will see the Hotel Hilton Reforma across Juarez. Revillagigedo runs south from Juarez along the east side of the Hotel. VegAmo is 3 1/2 blocks from Juarez, on the west side (on your right). VegMo is a beacon on a street filled with boutique hotels (City Express, Hotel Fleming), stores, restaurants and industrial supply shops.

The staff was quite friendly and knowledgeable on both visits. One spoke perfect English and the other about 50%. I mentioned they should make it more clear on the menu that the gluten-free buns and bread were optional. Since I was on my nineth day of hell following a waiter-induced gluten attack, this was quite important to me.

The menu was small but filled with varied comfort food at reasonable prices. The food was wonderful, satisfying and prepared fresh - which takes a bit of time. If you are ravenous, as I was, simply enjoy a raw or baked dessert while you are waiting.

My only cons: the upstairs already draws heat, then you are staring into nine hot lights. I suggest lights that don't give off heat and blind you, and I assume fans are forthcoming.

Keep up the good work. DF needs great veggie meals! :)

p.s. I meant to shoot the restaurant from across the street and add a picture here, and highly recommend the staff does so asap.
