Amazing Food - Lovely Person - Edit
We where at Ümis and had 2 cakes as well as some donuts.
Read moreI am not a donut fan, but I loved them so much that we bought some more to takeaway.
The cake was also amazing.
But I want to point out Ümi herself, she was such an amazing and passionate person, you can really feel her love for her shop and her products. She was always smiling and you could see how much fun she had with serving her products and talking about the ingredients and how everything is done.
Pros: lovely person, cozy place, great sweets
Cons: sideeffects - feeling stuffed, getting fat :)

Tasty, homemade pastries - Edit
I’ve tried the donuts, some of the cookie-type baked goods and the spinach Börek (my favorite!). The food is tasty, they offer a variety of plant milk and the staff is friendly. It is on the pricey side though.

A little overrated and overpriced - Edit
I was excited to try it out considering the good reviews, but I was a little disappointed. I had the lunch buffet offer and everything tasted a little bland. I also ordered a Latte and they only had vanilla soy milk as the only plant milk, and the „Krapfen“ was also very overpriced and only ok (3,50 EUR for one).
Read morePros: Lots of vegan pastries and sweets , Many vegan lunch options
Cons: Very expensive for what you get, Food tasted a bit bland, Only soy milk available as plant milk option

Best croissants and donuts - Edit
Like the good, old pre-vegan times: breakfast with coffee and croissant, afterwards amazing seaweed tapestry and custard/chocolate donut. The place was nicely decorated in middle eastern style.

Pastry paradise - Edit
I come here frequently for the donuts, cakes and other sweet stuff but I've also tried some savory things like a patty and potato salad. My non-vegan friends also like it.
Read moreThe opening hours are great and I've never had problems but my friend tried to come here two times on his own and they were always closed even though they were supposed to be open... as far as I know they do not put it online but just put a sign on the door (and the location is not that central that you could just pop by and check).
Pros: Lots of options , Ümi is super friendly and attentive , Homemade food
Cons: Only cash, A bit unreliable opening hours

cute Café with homemade goods - Edit
Ümis Café is an oriental styled cute place, we were happy to find out about through happyCow.
Read moreWe already had lunch, so we just took some things with us to go.
Some yummy Turkish borek, springroll stuffed with seaweed, apricot cake and - super impressed about that - a huge and heavyweight amarena chocolate ball!!
Never seen or had something like this before, super rich and creamy and probably about 1000 calories, haha!
Everything tasted delicious! We paid around 13€.
They also seem to offer a buffet, which looked appealing too!
If I’m back in munich I definitely will be returning to this unique little place!
Pros: Many vegan treats, homemade style , great for on the go, too, friendly staff

Nice neighborhood restaurant but CASH ONLY - Edit
We enjoyed our dinner here despite the payment issue (more on that later). Food was tasty, huge portions—the value was excellent. We paid €16.90 for a three-course meal that ended with dessert that we had to take back to the hotel because we were too full to eat anymore. The lady owner (?) didn't speak much English but was very pleasant and friendly throughout. The menu is also in German only. I was expecting Turkish food, so it was a bit surprising to see mostly German/Western food on the menu. Most of the vegan options looked fairly similar to me; I just asked for her recommendations and liked what we got.
Read moreEverything was going swell until the time to pay. I gave her a card—naturally—and she said cash only. We had but a €5 bill, some change in euro, and a few hundred USD on us. She wouldn't take USD and we couldn't get cash for reasons I'd rather not bore you with. Just as we were left in a bind and thought we might have to wash dishes there, a very nice young woman and, I assume, her father offered to help us pay in cash if we could paypal them back the money. It all worked out in the end, phew!
I had to take one star off for the medieval cash-only policy. Though, to be fair, it seems pretty common in Germany. I also found the ventilation in the restaurant inadequate given the pervasive cooking smell, which is one of the biggest pet peeves of mine.
Pros: good food, excellent value, nice owner (?)
Cons: poor ventilation, cash only

Amazing baked goods! - Edit
We stopped by for lunch and had the buffet, which was €6.90 and largely vegan - the server explained which dishes weren't vegan (only one, actually). The food was nice, but not really spectacular. The counter of baked goods, on the other hand, was really sensational! We shared the nougattortchen, which was vegan, and was so rich, crumbly and delicious. We also got some ring doughnuts to take away (there were about 5 different kinds, all vegan), and they were wonderful too. Highly recommended for baked goods, especially if you're in the area for the art galleries.

Sehr Gut! - Edit
This cafe was so much more than I had read about. The reviews were all fantastic but few in number...this place is the best! The owner (and chef/baker), is so friendly and knowledgeable. Stop by to oggle the fantastic pastries, case of fresh Turkish dips and salads, or come in for the hearty and homemade buffet. So many vegan items!!!

Cozy and clean place owned by a incredibly friendly turkish couple. Their English speaking is poor, but they are so solicitous that you won't have a problem if you don't speak german. They offer a large variety of meals, drinks, desserts - mostly vegan with many gluten free options.
