Teahouse and gallery. Serves vegetarian and vegan food. The gallery is dedicated to Tibetan, Nepal, Kashmir and Bhutan philosophy, religion, and art. Reported closed by owner, Sept 2016.
The teahouse serves lovely, hearty food. The setting is one of serenity and reverence, with a meditation room and a beautiful view of the bay. Very close to Boulders beach - a good spot to eat before/after visiting the famous penguin beach. Delicious vegan options, including vegan chocolate cake and their own home made soya chai tea served in little wooden cups. Yum.
Went there on my way to Boulder Beach, expecting something really tiny and stale, but instead we stepped into a little Asian temple, so beautifully decorated and the owner is an angel! We had a delicious mango salad and finished with yummy gluten-free desserts- I was in heaven!

My boyfriend and I were on holiday in Cape Town and visited Sophea Gallery and Tibetan Teahouse while on a road trip to the Cape of Good Hope. The food was fabulous and the majority of the menu is vegan. There is so much to choose from but the apple pie and chocolate cake in particular were outstanding. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. I'd highly recommend this place.
My favourite vegetarian restaurant in Cape Town! Set in a house, within a gallery. Very comfortable and homey. Great menu with hearty dishes including breakfasts, lentil dishes, burgers and really tasty vegan Cakes! Cats come to visit while you are eating. Art and jewellery sold all over the house. Wonderful place.
