Serves meat, vegan options available. One of vegan-friendly choices at Shanghai Pudong Airport, Terminal 2 (International Departures). After security control, on second floor close to airline lounges and other restaurants. Has a vegan set lunch consisting of dumplings filled with chives and tofu plus side braised vegetables, and fresh soymilk. Removed May 2019 - reduced vegan options.

Only one vege option - Edit
As per 11 Apr 2018, the restaurant has only one vegetarian option, which is the korean rice Bimbibap. It was not the real thing, it came in the metal pot with some vegetables and an egg. Tasteless. We did not eat the kimchi as we thought it probably has fish sauce. The Burger King near by did not serve vege burger too.

simple satisfying noodles - Edit
The only vegan option we had was the vegetable soup noodles (or rice), which is set G, but without the additional side soup, as it is not vegetarian. The set meal would cost over 80 Rmb if my memory is correct, while just the noodles or rice was 50. No dumplings either for vegetarians. They might have changed the menu slightly since the previous contributor's post.
Read moreStaff was very helpful. We also confirmed with them that the soup base for the noodles was vegetarian. We however forgot about whether the noodles themselves contained eggs. Would be great if someone else could ask next time. Or to be on the safe side just stick to rice. Not sure if it is clear from the photo but the bowl of soup noodles was a huge portion. Pretty tasty too. Carrot tasted a bit like it was frozen carrot though, but not a huge issue. Those who don't take onion and garlic, ask them to leave out the spring onion. Great to find vegan food at the airport!
This place is just above Burger King.

Veg-friendly dumpling place at Pudong airport - Edit
When traveling, it is always a challenge to find suitable restaurants at airports that provide safe vegan and vegetarian options.
Read moreLuckily, in Shanghai Pudong airport (Terminal 2) there is exactly such a place. While - like most restaurants in China - catering mainly to omnivores, Tian Xia dumpling is special in that they actually have a vegan lunch set, consisting of a set of chive dumplings and a plate or broiled vegetables. That is even the cheapest lunch set they offer at around 50 RMB. They even have home-made soymilk (sweet but very nice) to go with it.
I really enjoyed both the dumplings and the vegetable, and the meal was filling.
What more can you ask for?
Possibly how to find it. Not too difficult. It is after the security control in the area of gates 60-80, on the second floor where you also find Burger King and Segafredo. Simply follow the signs to these. Other places in this area that offer complementary vegan items are segafredo (espresso, unfortunately no soymilk) and Chatime (bubble tea).
Pros: Vegan set lunch available, Very nice taste, Price very fair for airport
Cons: Also serves meat
