The cottage restaurant run by Shane is a must see and experience in armidale.
Shane was incredibly attentive but not too much. His staff were skillful and polite.
A last minute extra 7th seat wasn't a problem to add to our table, though the wait on mains was quite a while, we weren't left hungry or waiting and were frequently checked on.
Either way, the food was amazing with hearty portions.
My partner and I are vegan and even though there was only one listed vegan menu item, the chef was prepared to offer us a Mediterranean veg pasta aswell as our "3 stuffed vegetable" mains. 2 of the breads were vegan as is, and 1 entre. Size was more than enough and we couldn't eat it all.
So packed full of flavour, this is a venue worth visiting not only for your first time, but also for parties, date night, family dinner, functions and corporate meeting's.
The cottage restaurant and bar has very successfully cornered the market providing a niche of excellent customer service which is lacking in Armidale and something I haven't really experienced in about 10 years. Not surprisingly since I dined with Shane at the old cattleman's restaurant years ago.
