Serves meat, vegan options available. Part of buffet-style salad bar chain. Features a large salad bar with additional soups, bread, muffins, breads, pizza, and desserts. Vegan items are noted, and has some gluten-free options labeled. Always at least one vegan soup. MAY 2020 DUE TO COVID-19 WILL NOT BE REOPENING. CLOSED. Also a location at 4420 North Stone Ave, Tucson. Reopened May 2024. Open Mon-Sat 10:30am-9:00pm, Sun 10:30am-8:00pm.

Great soup & salad bar! - Edit
Even the omni's we take here like Sweet Tomatoes! They've gotten much better about their vegan labeling. The selection of teas, iced and hot, is really good. Check the menu online and it will tell you what's on for that week. The coupons they put out are great! Family of 4, full buffet and drinks, for $25. With our budget, we go 2-3 times per month.

Pure nostalgia 🥗✨ - Edit
They used to have these all over the country, but most closed after the 2020 bankruptcy. Some locations were called Souplantation, but they were basically the same thing. Eating here was pure nostalgia — I used to come weekly for years. It felt so special to experience it again. 🤍

A few differences since reopened - Edit
The vegan options are no longer labeled like they were under past management. We only know what’s vegan from remembering what we got before. The one vegan soup is labeled vegan and is the one always on the left end. The baked potatoes (white and sweet) are vegan. They no longer have vegan butter. The sourdough bread and pasta marinara are vegan. It’s labeled vegetarian but I asked and was told on two separate occasions that it’s vegan. The spiral colored pasta at the salad bar and the plain croutons (not the seasoned ones) are vegan. The cherry vinaigrette is vegan I was told. I get the fat free Italian dressing which is vegan. I make a pasta salad from the cold spiral colored pasta, fat free Italian, black olives, carrots and edamame.

This place re-opened in April 2024. The food is just as good as it always was.

Clearly labeled - great options - Edit
Sweet Tomatoes has gotten so much better with labeling their vegan items. Great selection at the salad bar, of course. The hot bar at my latest visit had some vegan bread, soup, baked potatoes / sweet potatoes (and they offer vegan butter!) My only complaint is I wish they had a wider variety of vegan salad dressings.

Good choices especially seasonally - Edit
Buffet style restaurant. We enjoy the many options when building a salad. Often they have a vegan chili or soup as well, especially if you go for their seasonal choices such as lemon-summer, pumpkin-fall.

Fresh Salad - Edit
We were delighted to find Sweet Tomatoes when in Tucson. A mile-long salad bar? Yes, please. Everything is clearly marked "vegetarian" or "vegan." Lots of variety. Too bad the baked goods aren't vegan, nor the desserts, but fruit is great for dessert! Everything was as fresh and can be. I've seen some reviews saying the salad was wilted. Some of the pre-made salads can get that way; they have dressing on them.
