Kevin Smith sent me here - Edit
We’ve ordered from this place a few times from work and it’s a favorite of my completely non-vegan coworkers. Yes it’s true, I first heard about Souley’s LA location from Kevin Smith saying he ordered it three times within a week. I generally liked everything I’ve tried here. I don’t think of myself as a super “clean eater”, but some of the food here is heavier than my stomach can handle. And I can eat! But don’t let my wimpy stomach experience discourage you, check it out for yourself

CLOSED - Edit
The store is a ghost kitchen. Nowhere to actually sit and eat. It’s takeout only. The store appears to closed or only closed on saturdays? Other options say they’ll be open in 35 or so minutes but it only says Closed on Souley Vegans option. Bummer ):

Food was good, but was surprised to find out that this is not a restaurant! - Edit
Its a ghost kitchen, so there are 30 or so restaurant facades serving takeout from the same space/kitchen (including a ChikFilA!?!)

recommend! - Edit
We are traveling to LA from NYC and didn’t expect everything to close so earlier here so thanks to Souley for opening late on a weeknight!
Read moreGot the chicken and waffle, and the sampler with everything on it.
The fried batter here is so good and it stayed crispy for so long( maybe has corn meal in it?) the seitan was ok which the meat part had more texture. Waffle was very good tho.
The sampler was very yummy and with good portions, best part was the max and cheese. Yams was a little too sweet for me but that’s just my taste.
Kinda expensive but it’s because Uber eats robbing out here.

Delicious! - Edit
Ordered this via uber eats and was not disappointed. HUGE servings and great flavors. The only gripe I have is that the cheesy creole poppers were pretty greasy.. but they were massive and delicious. The breading is outta this world good.

Cons: No physical location (ghost kitchen), A little greasy

Beignets and Po Boys, oh my! - Edit
I've ordered many of their items and they're all good. I think the only dish I didn't care for was the Mac N cheeze and spinach dip. Everything else is yummy. My go tos are the Po Boy, fries, cornbread and of course the beignets.

Tasty food, not quite traditional southern flavor profiles but well seasoned. - Edit
This place is the new type of “doordash forward” storefront. A bunch a restaurants sharing a pickup window/lobby and limited outdoor seating area.
Read moreThe food had traditional ingredients like okra, collard greens, cornbread, poboys, and beniets. Everything was really tasty but isn’t quite spot on for southern flavor profiles. An example is the gumbo was clearly not made with a roux.
The cornbread was inbetween a corn bread and corn cake but really good texture.
Would definitely go there again if I was in the area.
Pros: All vegan , Classic southern ingredients , Good place to take non vegans
Cons: No store front. They share the front with others , Small outdoor seating, Street parking only.

Bang for your buck! - Edit
This place is amazing and gives very large portions!! What I ordered was perfect for two people, which is amazing for the price. And let me just say that New Orleans doesn't even have vegan beignets like these.

Vegan Creole Mac & Cheese - Edit
Mac and cheese was absolutely delicious! The star of the show however was their beignets! It comes with a chocolate sauce which deserves 10 stars on it’s own. Definitely would recommend!

New cuisine for me - Edit
I didn’t know anything about Creole food before I went vegan I this is the first time I’ve experienced it as a vegan too - wow - totally new for me. Very heavy get ready! I loved the “lighter” items like mashed potato’s and potato salad. Corn bread was soft and sweet. This is going to be a lot of very filling food so you don’t have to order a lot. Good value for the money quantity-wise. Oh I also liked the collard greens - super garlic!
Read moreWe ordered to-go during the pandemic and the pick up was confusing. There are like 12 kitchens working out of one window. No seating. I think this is a pandemic solution but there’s a bit of confusion at the counter. Like the guy didn’t have our food and didn’t know what restaurant and we didn’t know how to get him to know. We ended up calling the kitchen and saying we’re here! The kitchen then gives it to the guy and the guy finds you. So basically just call the kitchen 5 min before you arrive to pick up and the guy will probably know what you’re looking for that way.

Outstanding - Edit
Absolutely delicious! I ordered the gator bites, the Mac pasta, and beignets. All were delicious, the bites and Pasta had a nice spice level. The gator bites with the swamp sauce were out of this world. Can’t wait to return to LA and try different things on the menu.

Great flavor - Edit
We had the Po’Boy and fries, which tastes magnificent but leaves you a little heavy feeling afterwards; and the gumbo, which was bursting with flavor. The brewed ginger with strawberries is amazing.
