Great, inexpensive vegetarian food

This place is still open (and has been for the last 15 years!), though is a bit of a walk from the centro (google maps is incorrect about the location, but the address is correct, so go by that).

I just had the lunch buffet for 60 pesos, and it was definitely worth it! As a vegan, I ended up having the following dishes:

Potato tacos
Mixed wild rice (a really nice surprise!)
Black beans
Chayote and carrots (sauteed)
Tofu and veggie salad (surprisingly tasty!)
Vegan pozole soup
Nopalitos (cactus) salad
Coleslaw

Plus, there was a wonderful and fresh salad bar (with many veggie options, but only olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dressing).

Lastly, there were about 5 or 6 dishes that had eggs or cheese. So, if you are not vegan, you could enjoy those too.

All said, this place was a nice surprise. They definitely use no chicken broth in anything. Nothing too creative, but good and inexpensive vegetarian Mexican fare. I will definitely be going back!

Also, the buffet begins at 1pm and closes when food runs out (between 3:30 and 4pm). Your best best is to get there between 1 and 3pm!

Pros: inexpensive, 100% vegetarian!, tasty!

Cons: not super creative

appealing buffet not far from the center

Nice spot, and one of the few (if only) reliable veg choices in the city. Decent and varied buffet, though it was nearly depleted when I arrived at 2 p.m. on a Saturday, and was also only about half vegan (the rest had egg and cheese).

It's about a 15-20 minute walk from the center, but it's a pleasant one: you can walk down Carranza until hitting the lovely Jardin Tequisquiapan and then walk two blocks north to Zapata. Food is usually gone by 3 or 3:30 p.m.

Pros: one of the only options here, varied, nice energy

Cons: not very vegan, limited hours, buffet runs out quickly

Good solid buffet

We go to the lunch buffet once in awhile, salad is always available and a good variety of other dishes, sometimes not very original but always a lot of food. Most times juice and dessert is also available. Recommended.
They also sell some veggie and health food products and have workshops and regular yoga classes.

Pros: also have products and yoga, very friendly, discount cards available
