Great pasta

We were feeling a bit hopeless trying to find good vegan food in Venice and this unassuming place came to the rescue. They are knowledgeable about vegan and items are clearly marked vegan on the menu. They even offered to adapt a few other dishes. They were welcoming and the pasta was great. All with a beautiful water view and friendly service.

Pros: Welcoming to vegans, Quality of food, The word vegan actually printed on the menu

Good food and friendly staff

Pleasantly surprised with our lunch here. We chose it because there was more than 1 vegan option but thought it was going to be super touristy and poor quality given the area. Food was delicious and staff were extremely friendly. We had garlic bread, minestrone, penne arrabiata and spaghetti with chilli oil.

Tasty pasta, good pizza, friendly service

The spaghetti aglio oglio e peperencino are tasty (lots of garlic!). The vegan pizza (order vegetarian without cheese) is good, too. Friendly service, inside and outdoor seating. Cash and cards accepted. Update 2025: clearly labeled vegan options.

Definitely decent

I've also had the spaghetti aglio olio & peperoncino. I liked it. As written in other reviews it was garlicy but I like that as well.
Definitely not your typical Italian restaurant, the name "snack bar" fits the style. I was also the only customer on a weekday in March at around 8:30pm.

Pros: Tasty , Good price

Cons: No vegan labelling in menu

Lovely spaghetti aglio e olio

Recommend heading out towards this restaurant to escape the crowds - the walk along the side of the lagoon was lovely. There aren’t many vegan options but what they do, they do well. Sign outside advertises availability of vegan and gluten free options so although the menu isn’t labelled, the staff are aware of suitability of different menu items.

Really recommend the spaghetti aglio e olio - nicest I had in Italy.

Good pasta and pizza

The vegan options in Venice are very limited. I ate here two times and enjoyed the vegan options. They have about 5 vegan options, including vegetarian pizza, which can be made vegan by removing the cheese, spaghetti with tomato sauce, spaghetti with garlic chili oil, spaghetti with pesto sauce, and the toasted bread slices with tomatoes.

I had the vegetarian pizza without cheese, and it was okay. The pizza was a bit plain. The pizza could be improved by adding more vegetables to it to fill it up since there isn't any cheese on it. I also had the spaghetti with tomato sauce, and it tasted good. I had a bite of my friend's spaghetti with garlic chili oil, and it tasted pretty good as well. They could improve by having vegan cheese available for the pizza.

The staff working at the restaurant were very nice. They remembered me when I came back with my friends for my second visit the very same day. You can choose to be seated inside or outside while eating.

Amazing Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino

The Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino and vegetarian (with no cheese) pizza were both great! The Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino had the perfect amount of heat. Might have been my favorite meal in Venice!

Pros: Friendly Service

Very kind Service

Been there two times and had the Bruschetta and Spaghetti aglio e olio, for which I could order the level of spiciness, too. Both were good. I recommend the red ale. The potato crisps served with the drinks were also vegan.
The service was very kind and vegan-friendly.

Really good food and friendly staff!

The restaurant has affordable prices. The menu offers gluten free pizza dough and gluten free pasta. They also have a lot of vegetarian options. My boyfriend ate vegan pizza (without cheese) and I ate gluten free pasta with tomato sauce. Everything was really tasty and the waitress was really nice! I recommend this place, it really is a gem.

Pros: Vegan options , Gluten free options

Best vegan pizza I've had in Venice

During my trip to Venice, I've had a few pizzas without cheese. These are usually pretty disappointing-- essentially tomato sauce on a base with a scarce supply of vegetables. However the pizza here was delightful. Again no cheese, but packed with vegetables and rocket giving it a much healthier feel. Note that the vegan pizza is on the board outside the restaurant, but not the main menu, so you will have to ask for it. Unfortunately other options are limited, but considering how difficult it is to find good vegan food in Venice, at least they have tried!

Pros: Lovely pizza

Cons: Limited options
