This good? In AALTEN?!

Since our first visit I've been really impressed by Smidse Culinair, we have been back several times now. Based on the website I had no special expectations for vegetarian / vegan options, but it turns out Nynke and Marcel are really enthousiastic about creating meat-free options.

Nynke uses a lot of creativity (and talent and I guess patience). I can't make carrots taste like that at home (I've asked the receipe and tried). The smoked beans in one of my dishes during our first visit persuaded my meat-eating husband to choose the vegetarian menu on following dinners at Smidse Culinair.

Pros: Good, creative food!, Friendly, enthousiastic owners, Nice small- medium sized restaurant

Cons: Location. Aalten is between nowhere and.. eh..

Heerlijk 4 gangen vegan

We hebben hier gisteren met z'n tweeën een heerlijk 4 gangen diner gehad. Alles klopte, de sfeer was goed, het eten heerlijk en de gastvrijheid ook top! We komen zeker nog een keer terug!

Pros: Goed eten, Goede gastvrijheid, Rustige uitstraling

5 star restaurant in the center of Aalten

This is a great restaurant. I compare the level quality of the food and service to a Michelin 5 star rated location. We told our host that we are vegetarians and the chief created a wonderful dining experience!

Pros: Excellent service , Excellent food , Very friendly

Cons: You need reservations , None, None

Excellent all vegan haute cuisine from super nice people

We had a marvelous 4-course meal with oven prepared collie flower, smoked asparagus and baked white chocolate and so much more. The hosts are husband and wife where she cooks and he tends the guests. They really take the time to take your wishes into account. Making a vegan 5-course diner is no problem (making reservations a day in advance is preferable than so they can prepare). If you are in the neighborhood you should definitely take your dinerparty here!

Pros: great food, awesome hosts, everything tailored to your wishes, beautiful plates with every ingredient in place
