My favorite Silver Diner - Edit
I always have a great experience at this Silver Diner. The last time, I overindulged. I ordered the avocado sourdough toast with Just Egg and the roasted Brussels sprouts with beets and yams, then topped it all off with a vegan chocolate mocha milkshake. So delightful! And it's a fun atmosphere, too.

Vegan-friendly - Edit
This little chain of local eateries does a great job of menu marking. That alone gives me reason to adore this place! It's fine to figure out what seems vegan and to confirm with your server, but it is easier if it's already laid out in advance to make the meal ordering and meal go about more smoothly for everyone.
Read moreAnyhow, the first thing I like to have here is hummus, which comes with the most amazing pita. The hummus has such a wonderful flavor, and then it's garnished with olive oil, apricots, sunflower seeds and pickled onions. If you're not super hungry, it's actually a meal on its own. So good! I wish there was more pita or some carrot sticks and cucumber to complement the rich hummus, but, it's still amazing.
Entrees - I love the cauliflower Thai quinoa noodles, warm roasted local veggie salad, and if you don't mind fake meat/eggs, they have a just egg Benedict or breakfast tacos and Beyond meat tacos or burger. They also have a lot of delicious sides like asparagus, which is crisp and fresh, never soggy, or some spinach, edamame or just some brown rice.
The desserts, well, it's a no brainer for me. The Eclipse brand ice cream they use is out of this world for the best milkshakes. There are three plant-based shakes, and they're just a matter of what mood you're in to decide which to order. The Grasshopper is my favorite but once in a while the hibiscus mango is good - fruity and rich. All of them are creamy deliciousness in a classic milkshake glass with plant-based whipped cream, a cherry and swirled straw for that classic milkshake experience. There is always extra milkshake they bring you in the metal blender cup - yessss. The best!
Anyhow, see you there- it's so good!

They have lots of vegan options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and everything I’ve tried has been delicious and very fresh. The curry quinoa pasta with cauliflower and squash was excellent.

Thanks for having clearly marked vegan options… unlike some other diners - Edit
A good selection of vegan options, clearly marked. Honestly it has more vegan options than Ted’s Bulletin, the high end diner not to far away. The food is good, good service, and it’s easy to go out with my whole family.
Read morePLEASE have vegan burger options though. Doesn’t sound like the buns are vegan? Or maybe clearly mark once selection of the build your own burger as vegan options. Thanks!

Not terrible, plenty of options - Edit
I went to the Silver Diner specifically to check out their vegan menu, and they had a fair number of options. They offer ‘Just Egg’ Benedict, vegan meatballs with macaroni and vegan cheese, and other dedicated vegan meals. They allow breakfast to be ordered all day, which increases the number of vegan options available. In addition to the main menu items, each branch also has several specials based on season and location, and at least one of these specials was vegan as well. On the downside, I also have a food allergy, and when I asked the server about cross contamination they made *such* a face, as if having a food allergy was something I was doing intentionally to spite them. It soured me a bit on going back, even though the food was okay.

Surprising amount of options for a big diner chain. Their coconut quinoa pancakes are the best! We go there all the time for brunch because there are a ton of good options for both veggies and vegans
