I recommend the lunch deal because you can mix-match 2 main dishes, so if you go with someone else you pretty much try everything in the menu.

⚠️ make sure you tell the staff you want the dish veganized. Pretty much everything in the menu is vegetarian but can be veganized if you ask for it. But if you don’t, they assume you want it vegetarian.

Almost all dishes on the menu have a vegan option available or are already vegan. The majority of dishes is also gluten free. The homemade ice tea is delicious and the staff is very kind and quick on their feet. We had a great time and will come back.

The next day we returned without reservation for the lunch box. Very good value (10 euros): free iced tea, 1/2 soup and a combination of 2 main dishes of your choosing.

Had a late drop in after landing on aeroporto joa paulo ll at 9 PM and we were served so friendly and had a yummy starter, overwhelming main dish. Compared with that the applecrumble was just good.

Great atmosphere, amazing service and spectacular food! The food and service blew our minds. Everything is vegetarian, quite some dishes are vegan and most dishes can be made vegan! It was so amazing that we went again the next day and will definitely go again before we leave.

I decided to try rotas because of the great reviews, I arrived just before the kitchen closed, around 14:15 and ordered to takeaway as the restaurant was full. The person who served me was lovely and offered me free iced tea whilst I waited, which was a lovely gesture. I ordered the sweet potato burger with veg and it was lovely, full of flavour. Will definitely return when next on the island.

The best restaurant on São Miguel! The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Great menu with vegan options clearly labelled. The staff are so friendly and cheery. You have to make a booking to get in on an evening but you just have to go here!! My only small bugbear was the use of the word ‘normal’ to describe the non-vegan option but maybe something is lost in translation there.

by far our favorite vegan-friendly restaurant on sao miguel. we only went twice, but we love it. the food is great, but it's the owner that makes it special. she makes you feel like your dining in her home. pro tip: save room for pudding! also, make a reservation ASAP. she's booked up at least a day or two in advance.

Read moreFor lunch, you can stand in line and wait for a table (it took somewhat half an hour), but dinners are reservation only, and since I came to Ponta Delgada only for a few days, it seemed that I will have no chance for that. Super friendly staff agreed to let me know if any cancelation occurs, and it did 💚
Absolutely everything in this place is super delicious, every single waiter is like a long-lost family member, and you certainly forget yourself while being there: incredibly cozy atmosphere, no rush, and light and cheerful chatting create the most wonderful ambiance 💚

We were second on the waiting list so we stood outside on the street. Our waitress came out and gave everyone a complimentary glass of tea while we waited! We had the lunch special and highly recommend it for only 10 euros. Dessert was to die for!!

We were there for lunch, everything was excellent: service, price, decoration, variety of vegan options, homemade ice tea with free refill, food!! You will not be disappointed!!!
