They could not prepare a la carte items.

We arrived in the early afternoon, were seated and handed menus in English with many choices on them.
We selected the a la carte items to order and then the manager approached us and said no. We could only order the set lunch. The night before we had eaten dinner at Itadakizen and had had the exact same set meal, and it was delicious, and we had told the owner that we would visit Off-Grid in order to sample more of her food. However, we were too early for the items we selected; but the manager did allow us to order dessert, and they did have the delicious roast barley dessert that I had loved the night before, so we each had dessert instead of lunch.
As we were leaving, the manager tried to be friendly, offered us some cookies, and we do accept her apologies. Obviously there was a misunderstanding.

Pros: good food made by Itadakizen, nice setting, English menu

Cons: please don't give a menu with food not available, please explain upon seating what is available

Adorable space to make peace with your soul

Amazing little gem in the Sapporo city, with unique design, homey managers, and warmy soul food. Hope i can come more often.

Hard to find, but worth it!

This was a really interesting restaurant. It was on the fourth floor of the SACRA building, and getting to it was really sketchy. We had to go in through a garage, and take the elevator to the fourth floor. There was almost no signage. Once we got there, though, the atmosphere was really awesome. The menu was all in Japanese, but the waitress explained everything to us. She was really friendly. The food was awesome as well. We got bentos and dessert. I had the cheesecake, and my boyfriend had a cinnamon muffin. Both were delicious. We also got coffee, which turned out to be really overpriced. The food was pretty reasonable, but the drinks kind of put the bill into the stratosphere. It was a delicious dinner, in a hip atmosphere.

Pros: All vegan, Awesome atmosphere, Spectacular dessert

Cons: Expensive, Hard to Find

Awesome vibe

Really nice space and very friendly and attentive staff. A little tricky to find if you’re looking for a sign saying ‘Off-grid cafe’... look instead for ‘Physical’ inside the building itself and you will see to take the elevator to the top floor (no clear signs out the front). Food was really nice, I went for dinner and they served a ‘lunch box’ with a soup, rice, veggie, pickle, etc combo. I also had a chai tea (big bowl!) and vegan cheese cake for dessert. All super delicious and well presented. Top spot.

Nice place, great food

Don't get discouraged if your GPS led you to the address, and you don't find the Off-Grid: the Sacra building is a bit recessed, and you have to get pretty close to see the business names on the wall.
The Off-Grid is on the fourth floor, together with the Creative Commune, and at least one other artist's place. The place is gorgeous, spacious, and peaceful, and, when we were there, surprisingly busy. The menu was only in Japanese and the staff spoke very limited English but there were only two lunch options anyway, a set menu and a "lunch box". We took both and were very happy: subtle, tasty food, decent portion.
Would come back, now that we know where it is! :)

Pros: Great place, Nice food

Cons: Hard to find
