Owners Love Meat Too Much

Normally, I wouldn't set foot in a Milk Tea business to buy a sugary syrup beverage as I prefer fresh fruit and filtered water to quench my thirst, however I was drawn in by the signs outside declaring "vegan" on the window. Excited to support a vegan business I entered and considered buying a smoothie, the smoothie machine however was broken at the time, and the counter staff said she was sorry and that she was getting it fixed, I asked if she was the owner and she said no, but her friends were and she was helping them out, as they had just opened this store after going to Melbourne and really liked the franchise they visited there and wanted to do something good for the environment and the planet and everything." So I asked, "And for the animals, right?" "Oh yes, that too of course," she replied. I grew suspicious and asked, "Are they vegan?" And her answer was, "No, they aren't." I asked why and her answer was, "Because they love meat too much!" She then asked what she could sell me, and I said, "Well, I really don't want anything, I just wanted to support a vegan owned business." To which she replied very good-naturedly and said she understood and that was that. I left. Cheers on her for being friendly and honest and not arguing and maintaining a smile the whole time. Boo on the owners for opening up a greenwashing cash-in to take money from vegans, calling their plant based business vegan and taking that money to finance their psychopathic "love" for killing animals and chopping them up to turn into sewage. Some kind of loves we can all live with out. Especially the animals who probably won't feel very loved when they die for a moment of selfish gratification at meal-times. Too bad businesses like this use the term vegan to refer to a plant-based diet while absolutely missing out on the meaning of the term and appropriating veganism for their business marketing for personal profit. Go Vegan folks or Go Love Yourself.

I don’t think you should be giving a bubble tea shop a bad review considering 1. you don’t even like bubble tea and 2. you didn’t buy anything
