Nectar Tea House, Gallery, and Tienda moved here from Benigno Malo 10-42 in 2014, and as of Jan 2015 it's no longer open for meals. It now offers a once-a-week catering: order by Tuesday and pick up on Friday. On Monday fresh bread is offered by delivery. On Monday and Tuesday it sells organic produce. MAR 2015 REPORTED NOT HERE, MIGHT HAVE MOVED - PLEASE SEND NEW ADDRESS TO HAPPYCOW.

The place to go for healthy food in Cuenca - Edit
Had the almuerzo a few times and it was always fresh and included lots of veggies. Definitely one of the healthiest options in Cuenca. Soup, main plate, juice, and a small dessert for about 3.75$

Thanks for your review. If the portion size was not much, why didn't you ask us for it to be a bit more? From time to time we have clients leaving their food because it is too much. Others ask for a bit more and we are happy to accommodate them. One thing we dislike is wasting food! Have the courage to ask for a bit more next time, and we assure you that you will be rewarded!

This is simply the best restaurant in Cuenca. Brilliant, healthy, vegan food. The best quality and most affordable meals in town by far. Whether you have the menu of the day or choose a la carte, you can not go wrong at this place. The owners, Yianni and Tania, are down to earth, authentic and the real deal! A beautiful space with lovingly created food. We have never had a bad meal there in tens of visits. So honored to have a true VEGAN restaurant in Cuenca ... the energy of this food is amazing. If there were more restaurants like Nectar, the world would be a different place. A must visit!!

Read moreThey have a main menu with different delicious sounding appetizers, etc. I had the main almuezo del dÃa.
They first brought out a nice salted popcorn, then a pumpkin soup (be Ecuadorian! Put the popcorn in the soup! Delicious!) Papaya juice, then a main of cooked potatoes, lentil salad, and a green salad with a lovely, light dressing.
Liked the whole restaurant, the food, the people. At $3 for an almuerzo, what a steal.

This restaurant is fabulous. The owners are wonderful and the food is delicious, vegan and homemade- which can be tough to find in cuenca! It is also verryyyy inexpensive. Im sad I discovered this restaurant on the last day that Im in Cuenca because I would honestly eat at Nectar everyday. They also use organic produce that they get from a local farmer.
