When you were excited to bring your vegan family on the only vegan restaurant on the island but found that it was even more special than any restaurants I have ever been to. And it was truly one of a kind.
We came in right after lunch rush and were sat immediately. We were left there for a while the two servers were kind of going in and out of the middle section of the restaurant. Not sure when was the appropriate time to flag down server for a few questions about the menu so I bit the bullet and flagged the guy in dreadlocks that sat us down and was intentionally ignored us for the last 10 mins. He gave me stinky eyes when I asked if I could ask a few questions about the menu. His word for word response was "yes, that is why I am coming over to take your order." With a [censored] creepy smile and eyes that figuratively stabbing me in my [censored] neck. Then I ignored the sarcasm and condescending tone and went to ask him what is the flavor profile of the lentil pate. He said "savory" in a tone like I am so [censored] stupid and he has to deal with my stupidity. *Insert eye roll.* then I went on and asked how close is it supposedly to the traditional flavor of the pate. He said "very close." Then I went on and asked about what is the pepperoni toppings on the pizza. He flat out told me it was "plant based". So [censored] helpful this guy
Or that he thought I was so stupid to walk in a [censored] vegan restaurant and NOT know it. So I asked if they made it themselves or if it was some random soy based protein they bought? He flatly said soy based. Then the oh-so-helpful-server condescendingly told me in a duh attitude that yeah it was soy. Like I was so [censored] dumb to know it was the one and only choice of plant base pepperoni.
I have never been to a restaurant, omni or vegan that has ever been so ridiculously rude and [censored] like. NOr ever been treated like so. He was determined to be as unhelpful and condescending as possible. Yes I have been to many vegan restaurants all over LA up to the coast of Northeast, New Zealand, Australia and all the Hawaiian restaurants, never have I been met with such condescension and judgement. Most if not all vegan restaurants are super friendly, extra kind and patience. Especially their message has always been about kindness and compassion. And if nothing else, just great professionalism. This was the opposite of all that. Also I have been plant based or vegan whatever you want to call it for [censored] 5 yrs! I like to travel to eat. So I don't need this bullshit he was laying on us. My husband thought he was ridiculous as well and tried to avoid talking to him the whole meal. Perhaps this is the vibe that is encouraged here and I can see why so many people were put off by veganism or specifically this restaurant. Wish I had read all the negative reviews from this place before I gave them my business. Because all those reviews were true. I am disappointed to give a vegan restaurant bad review, but would like to call out people who gave them positive reviews just because it was a vegan restaurant. This kind of attitude gives all vegan or plant based restaurant bad names. I now distrust fellow vegan reviews.

Green lentil pate- literally a lentil paste with nothing resemble pate flavor. Didnt even try to have anything close to it. SO I call bullshit. Secondly the "pickle" accompanying the pate was too sweet to be called pickles. Lasagna was good, nothing amazing. Pizzas was ok. The pepperoni was probably just some overly processed [censored] they bought to put on, which they didnt even know the name of or care enough to know what the [censored] they were using to educate the customers. So if you were here and have special dietary restrictions and cannot eat all plant based food, [censored] you. Because the servers are too [censored] highly and mighty to inform you and do their job. And are not allowed to ask too many questions before ordering because [censored] u too, he doesn't have time for your bullshit. Even though the restaurant was half empty, he has no time for you [censored] questions. After we finished our meal and a few exchange of pleasantries, we walked out the restaurant. I overheard a lady asked a question about food they served and overheard the same jerk answered in condescension "this is a restaurant." She blazed out at the same time we did. I asked her what was she looking for? She said a "place to have soup, but this place seems too fancy".
Wow just wow. If I were on vacation again and starving for food, I probably won't crawl back.
In short attitude and service is a -10/5. Food is probably a 3/5. Pretention is a 10. I cannot give a -7 for a rating. I was so very happy to have a plant based this far out, but this just give vegan cause a bad name. I am not happy about this review, but it has to be written. Nobody deserved to be treated this way. So if you want to be treated like a pile of dung for average food but high price, then come here. Maybe if I told them we were vegans we would have had much better treatment? Perhaps, but nonvegans are humans too and do not deserve this appalling service
