OMG AMAZING - Korean BBQ! - Edit
I think this was my favorite meal I had in Korea, which is apt for my last day here. The owner is so kind and goes out of her way to make Korean traditional foods accessible to vegans. We ordered the vegan Korean Barbecue which we cooked at our table, which was a super fun experience and the soy meat was actually really delicious (not something I always expect from soy meat). We also shared the Tteokbokki hot pot which has not just tteokbokki but also “fish” cakes, vegetables, rice noodles, and some fried dumplings. After a few lean days in Jeju I was so hungry and the food was so welcome.
Read moreThe owner is a really wonderful person. It was quiet so we chat together a lot about our countries and our cultures, and it was nice to get to know someone new. She speaks English so anglophones can strike up a conversation (as can, obviously, those who speak Korean).
I will recommend this place to everyone!

We had just flown into jeju and being a Tuesday in low season, we quickly found out a lot of places were closed! And on top of that being plant based, we thought we might go hungry. Until we found Lan’s Kitchen!!

The chef even came out and spoke with us, and gave us recommendations of other places to visit too.
We loved out experience and our hearts and tummy’s were very satisfied.

Best mushroom hotpot ever - Edit
We had Lan's Kitchen three times while in Jeju; the first two times a friend picked it up because we were not feeling well. The owner was kind enough to boil the mushroom hotpot so our friend could bring it to us already cooked, and it was AMAZING. Delicious and restorative, just the thing you want when you're sick. One of the best things I've ever eaten, and I've been around! When we later ate at the restaurant, I had the beef bulgogi noodles and the soy cutlet, and both were excellent. And the owner asked after my health because she recognized my friend! So kind.

I got there around 5pm and was the only one there. I ordered the spring roll and original bahn mi. Both were really good and fresh. I also got kimchi fried rice for takeout. I ate it the next day and it was amazing. The owner is super nice and speaks English.

A true highlight of Korea! - Edit
Brilliant food where we had - quite possibly - the only vegan Korean bbq in Jeju, maybe even the whole of Korea. It was delicious and we were made to feel so welcome by the restaurant’s owner, who kindly gave us plenty of other vegan recommendations for the island.

Visited 3 times while staying in Jeju. I tried the rice noodles, mushroom hot pot and tom yum hot pot and banmi. All terrific food. Tom yum hot pot is proper spicy but tastes fantastic. Rice noodles are not spicy, but the spicy sauce can make it very spicy so don’t dump it in.

We visited Lan't Kitchen twice in July 2023, when we traveled to Jeju from Washington DC. We had a great time being there and tasting different preps. Lan can speak fluent English and she a very positive and inviting person. She is also a great chef. We enjoyed two of our meals there on different days and invited more people to join us as we liked her cooking very much. Lan, I hope you had a great holiday visiting your home country. Thank you for having your kitchen available for us to visit and we hope to see you next time we visit Jeju in 2025.

A cozy little restaurant serving Vietnamese and Korean food. The owner was so sweet and took the time to explain the menu and ordering system to us (you order through a QR code; they have wifi). We went for Vietnamese food and tried the pho, fried spring rolls and soy cutlets and rice. The food was great and there are self service side dishes (kimchi, pickles).

I didn't think I could ever enjoy Korean BBQ again but Lan's soy meat was a really nice experience.
Read moreWhen I went there yesterday with a friend who is allergic to gluten, Lan patiently explained her menu and what she could or could not eat, even making sure to check some ingredients twice.
She made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our food and was just a great host, in general.
10/10 recommend this place for the food as well as the amazing staff :))

Lan's food was absolutely delicious!! Our favourite in Jeju. We went 2 times and loved everything we ordered 🥰 The service was fantastic, & Lan is so lovely. Make sure you make a reservation if you want to do the Korean BBQ. You can just message her on Instagram. She speaks amazing English. It was such a great experience doing Korean BBQ for the first time since we've never come across vegan BBQ in Australia. Lan was very kind to show us how to do it. I highly recommend her restaurant. It's worth a visit!! 😊
