Really nice vegan place close to Xinzhuang station

Knowing café is a really nice place located close to Xinzhuang metro station, where vegan places are rare to be found. If you appreaciate a cup of quality tea or coffee and are fond of vegan baked desserts, such as cheesecakes, cookies or pastries, this place is absolutely a good choice! They also offer simple vegan dishes - noodles with veggies, dumplings etc. The restaurant is cozy, staff is friendly and the overall experience has been always nice everytime I visited with my friend. I would be very happy to recommend this cafe for vegan visiters nearby.

Pros: Coffee & Tea, Desserts & other dishes, Staff

A chill cafe if you’ve got time to unwind

Relaxed environment.
Came on Christmas Eve and they apologized for being mostly out of breads and desserts. Understandable. Maybe colored my opinion. Service was friendly. Ordered an avocado pizza which was exquisite — unlike any I’ve had before. Very good though 128 yuan for 10 inches. Took them a long time to make it but did make it from scratch (we were only customers here). Overall if you have time to chill and relax this place is good. Maybe if they were fully stocked also would be quick.

Didn’t try coffees or teas but that is their main thing.

EDIT: they gave me a free small cup of coffee ☕️. Nice owners

Knowing Me, Knowing You.

I've adjusted the map marker so it is accurate now, this place is easy to find from Xinzhuang metro station North exits, look left, take the small road off the main road, directly opposite the exits, then first left until you come to the main road, Knowing Cafe is on the right at the corner. As my girlfriend is currently working from home I persuaded her to take a slightly longer lunch break, as we live near line 1 it was only a 20 minute metro ride for us. The place is lovely, very nice interior and clean. We had a bowl of (not too) spicy noodles and the shepherd's purse dumplings in broth, they were really good sized portions, we asked for not too spicy so the noodles were perfect with the crunchy peanuts but the dumplings were my favourite, so tasty. We stayed to try the Oatly latte and baked cheesecake, neither disappointed, the cheesecake had great texture and a slightly salty base/crust that played nicely with the main filling. I gave the owner/manager an Excellent reviews sticker. It won't be the last time I'm here. They also sell some sweets to take away.
Had to revisit with our vegan friends, we had 3 bowls of sheperd's purse & 1 of a pickled vegetable dumpling, the waitress was nice enough to ask us if we wanted the dumplings mixed but we didn't. I tried one of the pickled dumplings & it was really tasty, my girlfriend said she'd have them next time. The sheperd's purse ones are so damn good in such a tasty broth, this may become one of my regular joints. We all had a slice of the baked cheesecake, it delighted everyone. They do muffins too but sadly were out of stock that day. This place does a limited number of things beautifully, highly recommend visiting.
If you are lucky enough to visit here they also do a mousse cake, we shared the coffee & the matcha ones, so delicious, my favourite vegan desserts in Shanghai.

Pros: Excellent vegan food, Amazing staff and atmosphere
