First couple of experiences at House of Flavor were quite good. However our last visit on June 6th 2020 was rather uncomfortable. None of the staff were wearing masks when we walked into the establishment. In addition, the staff weren’t social distancing. We had family members who have had COVID19 and friends who have relatives who died from COVID19 related complications. So needless to say, it was difficult to enjoy our food. (Though it was good) The staff was still friendly and we still tipped well (not the staff’s fault for an establishments’ policy).

My wife reached out to House o Flavor privately via a DM to let them know we were uncomfortable with the fact their staff wasn’t wearing masks. We reached out to them out of concern for staff and customers. The response we got belittled our concerns, telling us that they were “too woke” to be concerned about COVID19. This is not slander: we have screen captures of the DM conversation with House of Flavor. We won’t go back to House of Flavor even when this pandemic ends. Really disappointing because we use to really like this restaurant.

NOTE: Happy Cow calls it “ranting and raving” if you write your concerns in a review. I guess we’re not suppose to write anything remotely negative about a business we visit. We have screen captures of my chat with Happy Cow support too.

Hands down THE BEST VEGAN CAFE IN NEW JERSEY!! Amazingggg, one of a kind place😄the food is always fresh and soo, soooooo good. They have it alllll😄from the house of flavor burger ( MUST HAVE) to a burrito, MAC AND CHEESE ( MUST HAVE) to a pumpkin cheesecakeeee one of my absolute favorites definitely a MUST HAVE😄shakes and juices are also available made fresh right in front of you. My favorite go to is the rise and grind😄but they are ALL amazing and you MUST HAVE an immune booster it is toooooo good. The owners are incredible, passionate, respectful, and extremely nice and kind people. Their employees are very welcoming and kind. Always with a smile on😄You could feel such an incredible energy when you meet them and walk into this beautiful, bright establishment. The art work on the walls....... so unique and will take your breathe away. EXTREMELY CLEAN, you could eat off the floor. I have been a customer since day one and 3 YEARS later I still am, NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. During this whole COVID, they have been nothing more than understanding and respectful towards everyone's needs. In my opinion, the whole mask situation is unnecessary and pointless. There is no need for them! 6ft or a mask not BOTH! I completely respect them and how they wish to run the business that They built! No one should be going to another person's business telling them what they should or shouldn't be doing. Point.blank. period! They are taking ALL the right measures to keep everyone safe. A mask isn't going to do or prevent anything but what it will do is cause more harm than good. INSTEAD, WORRY ABOUT TAKING CARE OF YOUR HEALTH AND START EATING BETTER AND LET GO OF PROCESSED GMO FOODS. LET GO OF THE FAST FOOD LIFE BEFORE YOU WALK INTO AN ESTABLISHMENT COMPLICATING ABOUT A MASK! GET REAL PEOPLE! ITS TIME TO WAKE UP!! Stop watching the News! CNN especially and attacking people only because the NEWS SAID you must "wear masks" and "COVID cases are going up" BUT IF THE NEWS AND DR. FAUCI/ BILL GATES SAID STOP WEARING MASKS, ONLY EAT ORGANIC FOODS, ONLY DRINK HIGH PH LEVELED WATER, EXERCISE...... EVERYONE THAT WROTE A REVIEW ABOUT A MASK WOULD RIP IT OFF THEIR FACE AND START LIVING THE WAY THEY ARE BEING TOLD RIGHT? THEREFORE, ITS ALL BULLSHIT! FAKE NEWS, STOP FEEDING YOUR MIND PROPAGANDA! DO SOME REAL RESEARCH! The owners of house of flavor are people who know and understand how the human body works. THE SCIENCE !! THATS THE IMPORTANT THING HERE.

The food is not bad but the business owner’s unprofessionalism to attack every customer who gives a less then glowing review reflects quite a bit on the ethics of his business. I do not recommend this place at all as there are way too many other vegan establishments in the area that have kind business owners, knowledgeable employees, good wholesome food and are able to exert professionalism where they take negative reviews and apply it to their business to improve their establishment.

The owner has called me names and accused me of “playing” victim. As someone who is a domestic violence survivor, I was slightly triggered by both the name-calling and by his accusation of calling me a “victim”.
I’m grateful I am no longer at a point in my life where insult hurling and verbal attacks would break me down but certainly I didn’t expect it from a biz owner due to my review.

I hope the owner gets it together and learns to take constructive criticism and apply it to his business instead of attacking any customer that comes through his establishment and gives his/her honest opinion.

Not sure if the guy who runs this place is actually the business owner but the way he talks to people is disgusting. Ordered from this place and the guy who claimed to be the owner speaks to his customers like trash. I would stay away from here at all costs. Overpriced, food is decent at best but most times looks and tastes old, customer service is horrific.
