Excellent vegan fish n chips! - Edit
Thoroughly enjoyed our food, hubby had the Smoked Faddock Supper and I the Battered Funk Fish supper. Both tasted really good and the Smoked Faddock was very yummy!
Read moreMy only criticism is the pub is so loud (but then we are a pair of old farts) so doesn't make for a relaxing atmosphere. Still, that would not out us off going back again.
Beer was pretty expensive though!
Pros: Excellent vegan food, variety and service, Delivery and collection available
Cons: Noise and bar prices

Great fish and bar food, but a can be overstimulating - Edit
We wanted to eat at least one vegan fish and chips during our UK Trip and this was the best choice. The food was great. The atmosphere was very overstimulating cause we went there on St. Patricks Day and the bar was full of drunk people and very loud. So if you are a sensitive Person maybe you order something for takeaway.

Pros: Taste
Cons: Can be stressy for sensitive people, The pub itself isn't vegan only the food kitchen!

Very tasty! - Edit
Really liked the fish and chips. It was a huge portion and I just about managed to finish it. I'd definitely recommend stopping by. It is in a pub though, so rather dim lighting and maybe not everyone's vibe

Great fish and chips - Edit
Great service and friendly staff. In an interesting fun pub.
Read moreWe had the sharing munchie box. Tofu fish and cauliflower was great and the battered sausage. The vegan haggis was a bit greasy though.
Unfortunately found a hair in the food. The staff dealt with the complaint perfectly and gave us a dessert on the house. Would recommend and would definitely return in the future .

Fully vegan munchie box! - Edit
We ordered the munchie box via the VG delivery. The box was massive! It was nice to finally be able to eat that sort of food again. It was pretty expensive but it was a treat.

£10 delivery fee, is it worth it? - Edit
I've only ever ordered delivery from them and while the munchy box was to die for, I cannot give it a 5 star rating due to the abhorrent £10 delivery fee I was charged. They should really look at using a more efficient delivery service.

Super tasty - Edit
We had tofish and faggis supper to share. Loved the tofish it was exactly how I remember a fish supper to taste. The haggis had a lovely crisp batter on it. Onion rings were fab and the breadcrumbs on them very super crunchy. I would give 4.5 stars if I could. Only thing I wished it was proper chippy chips but that is the only thing!

Nothing special - Edit
Cold room, we didn't really like the burger taste (too strong). We wouldn't come back again.

Mi pareja y yo decidimos celebrar mi cumpleaños en este establecimiento atraídos por la "Munchie box". Nos gustó mucho aunque es demasiada comida para 2 personas, nos costó terminarla!

Absolutely incredible - Edit
Great pub, super interesting with lots of eclectic decor. Good vibes and friendly staff. I loved the options and vegan alternatives available. We got the option to try a bit of everything, which was more than enough for 2 people. I especially liked the wings and tofu fish fingers!

An incredible taste of UK food - Edit
My partner and I ordered the munch box (and struggled to finish it because it was so big). Such good value. It was also really nice to try a little bit of everything; wings, chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, even vegan haggis! The Happy Fish was situated in an eclectic pub which also have £5 margaritas (yay!). The chef approached our table to make sure everything was alright, which we appreciated. It was great to connect with someone who shares vegan food with the world. They deserve all the support!!

Delicous - Edit
I had the munch box so that I could try all the different things. The haggis in particular was soo good. Loved the curry sauce, gravy and fried sausages as well. Tasty but not at all healthy.

Great place - Edit
Super nice atmosphere and good food. You order via whatsapp, which works great, and the service is pretty quick. I had to try the deep fried mars bar because I've never seen a vegan version of this Scottish classic and I am glad I tried it but it's something you have once and that's enough, good but veeeeery sweet. I really liked the place!

Excellent for a great big dirty FEAST. The other reviews have said it all already - place is fab and quirky, staff are just BRILLIANT, and the food is absolutely filthy in the best way. They were so kind to our tired dog! We loved it!

Battered ‘faggis’ 😂👌 - Edit
This place is a must when in Edinburgh! £5 spicy Margs and huge portions of delicious vegan chippy! Me and my sister came in and instantly loved it, quirky little pub. We had the battered faggis and the tofish burger. We were both defeated but the server offered takeaway boxes. Service amazing, food amazing, atmosphere amazing!

Absolutely MUST 🌟 - Edit
The Happy Fish is not your usual chippy — it’s on a whole different level, and whether you’re vegan or not, you absolutely must try it 💚 Everything that comes out of their kitchen is outstanding. The tofishes are perfectly seasoned and crispy, the battered sausage is spot-on, and the battered ‘faggis’… WOW. It’s HUUUUGE — and somehow just as delicious as it is massive 🤤

If you’re in the mood for a sharp kick, grab some of their pickled onions…. they deliver a sour punch that’ll wake you right up 😅
The atmosphere is phenomenal — the staff are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and clearly love what they do. And for anyone who enjoys a good drink, their vegan-friendly cocktails are a massive bonus.
If you’re in Edinburgh and craving comfort vegan food done right, The Happy Fish should be at the top of your list. A total gem. 🌟✨
