One of my favourite places to eat in Oslo - Edit
I like The Kasbah a lot. Like the other reviewers have said, the food isn't gourmet, it's simple and could be more inspired, e.g. with a wider selection of foods made from fruits and veggies. The best things they serve are all rather fatty, like hummus, baba ganoush and falafels, so I often end up feeling more stuffed than I'd like when I go there.
Read moreEven so, this is one of my favourite places to go out for food and beer in Oslo. The atmosphere is really cozy, they have some good beers, and I do love their hummus plate with falafel, even though it would've been even better with some more exciting greens than carrots, cucumber and bland tomatoes. Their baba ganoush sandwich is very small, but I warmly recommend their hummus plate, their falafel plate or a meze you put together yourself (with baba ganoush!).
All vegan dishes are clearly marked with VV. Gluten free is marked with G, and vegetarian with V.
Pros: Plenty of vegan options clearly marked, Cozy atmosphere, Meze with great baba ganoush
Cons: Not enough fruits and veggies, The food can appear slightly boring

Incredible mezze selection and Meat Free Mondays - Edit
We went on a Monday evening and enjoyed their vegan mezze for two to share. Delicious hummus, chickpeas, lentils and taboulleh, and their falafel was so popular they'd sold out. Portion size good and also offer sweets including a brownie and baklava.

Not great - Edit
This place gets a lot of praise, but personally I was not impressed. The food is not great, and too expensive for the portion sizes and also quality of ingredients (the pitas we got were a store bought variety etc) and I felt like I could have made something better at home.

Pros: Chill atmosphere , Friendly staff, Popular
Cons: Unimpressed by the food, Too expensive for what you get

The humus is great! - Edit
We had brunch in a big group. Still, the atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly! I had a plate with humus, falafel and raw vegetables which was very tasty and a quite good mix for brunch! For Oslo the prices were extremly adequate which makes it a good place to eat there several times during a trip to Oslo ;)

Best falafel and hummus in town - Edit
Take the falafel in pita if you want a cheap dish, it's pretty big.

Great place! - Edit
Nice place with good food. Best hummus and baba ganosh I've tasted in Oslo. Vegan, vegetarian and glutenfree option easy marked in the menu. Too bad the falafel isn't glutenfree, as they are glutenfree most places. Nice staff and enviroment.

The atmosphere is what counts here - Edit
The falafel is great and the hummus as well, they also serve a very nice wholegrain bread. Vegan and glutenfree options are marked which makes everything very easy.
Read moreThey serve little to no fresh veggies, just fried stuff or with lots of oil on it. Their "smoothies" consist on three louzy ingredients such as: "Banana, apple juice and honey"..wow.
I agree with the first comment, the food is not exceptional and the prices are too high for what you get. I visit this place not because of their food, but because of the atmosphere and the service. It's a very comfortable space, with cool art and pictures hanging on the wall. Staff is very friendly and well, they are very vegan friendly which is not very common here in Oslo.
So, all in all a great place to visit as if to hang out, drink some tea - but not the best for eating.
Pros: Good falafel and hummus, Comfortable atmosphere, Friendly staff
Cons: Louzy ingredients, Cheap food - expensive price, No fresh veggies

Nice concept, but... - Edit
This place has a very nice concept, but the execution is somewhat flawed. The service is very friendly. They recommended fava beans with hummus, and the hummus was delicious. However the beans were obviously from a can. The olives that came as a side dish were of the cheapest supermarket brand and didn't taste like olives at all. With it came a slightly uninspiring salad. It is completely overpriced for a meal that takes so little effort to make and where ingredients are of the cheapest supermarket kind available. The Indian restaurant across the square (Gutta fra Calcutta), where they have several vegetarian options available, is a much better choice for a meal, and the price range isn't much higher.

Cons: bad olives, canned beans
