Super cute and yummy - Edit
Stopped by here and couldn’t stop going back up to the counter to buy more treats! The carrot soup was creamy and perfect, the chocolate chip cookies were really great, and the blueberry muffins were moist and to die for! I’d say the pasta salad was alright… it was my least favorite of what I ordered but hard to compare when everything else was 10/10. They forgot to bring me my tea for 30 or so minutes but they were newly opened when I went in November so I understand they were working out the kinks. If i’m ever back in Hood River, I’ll certainly stop by!!!

Outstanding sandwiches and baked goods - Edit
We first discovered this place and their amazing buns at the Portland Vegan Night Market, so we knew this would be an important stop when we visited Hood River in August! We went to Golden Goods multiple times on our Hood River trip and LOVED everything we tried. Their tempeh is particularly special, and of course the sweet buns cannot be missed. The people working there were incredibly nice.

Fantastic food & ALL VEGAN! - Edit
Cute little place in a cute little town! Only open till 3 PM and we got there 10 minutes before closing and they let us stay and eat inside. Very nice people! We ordered the fried oyster mushroom po’boy and T-BLAT sandwich. Both were good. We also tried the potato salad, tiramisu bread and rice Krispy treat. Potato salad was decent. Would’ve been better with some onion and celery, but it was nice and dilly. The tiramisu bread was a bit dense, but after a couple days on the counter, it was absolutely wonderful. It softened a lot because of the fluffy cream on top. The rice crispy treat was just OK. Can’t wait to return and try some of their other menu items!
Read moreUpdate! They’ve stepped up their baked goods since June! Really delicious!! Especially the blackberry pastry. Tried their Korean jackfruit sandwich this time and it was excellent. They are also open for breakfast, so I’ll have to try their AM offerings next time.

Underwhelming - Edit
I guess this happens when you’re the only vegan game in town!
Read moreWe had the mushroom po’boy and the tofu banh mi. The po’boy had a nice sauce, but was otherwise not great: the mushrooms were very difficult to bite through and were coated in a hard, thick breading. The whole sandwich felt terribly dense. The banh mi wasn’t too much better; it just tasted like soy sauce, no fermented flavor from the do chua, no cilantro, and the cucumber was limp rather than crisp. The best part was the house made potato chips, which were thin and crisp without being too oily.

An excellent, all-vegan cafe. Easy on/off I-84. Really nice interior. Fast, friendly service. Tasty, fresh sandwiches and house-made chips. Gluten free bread options too. Nothing to fault regarding the food. Definitely check it out if you’re passing through Hood River in the morning/early-afternoon.

Great Sandwiches - Edit
Man do they stuff those buns full of filling! I didn’t notice that breakfast was over so I had to quickly pick a lunch option. The kids all got the T Blat and loved it. I’d almost rather they just serve on regular bread. It was really messy and hard to eat. Huge portions though. You could easily share in a pinch.

Best Tempeh ever - Edit
My family and I were visiting the area and we went to Golden Goods twice because they had the best vegan food! First time was lunch and we got the B.L.A.T. with tempeh what was marinated and fried to perfection, and a really delicious bahn mi with tofu. Second time we got the biscuit breakfast sandwiches with the same tempeh and they were spectacular as well- perfect biscuits, not too thick or crumbly, and the seasoned potatoes in the sandwiches were a surprise star. Staff was friendly and helpful and if I am ever in the area again I will be visiting! Also their pastry case had tons of tasty options.

Wish I could transport myself to Hood River - Edit
While visiting Oregon we stopped in here & we’re blown away at the BLT! By far the best I’ve had in a very long time! Being from the “other”Portland area it was also cool to meet a fellow Mainer behind the counter. Staff were amazing. Food was delicious! Now to figure out how to transport myself to Hood River for more😄

Vegan bliss in Hood River - Edit
I had the special, vegetable romesco with greens on focaccia, and it was even more delicious than it sounds. To top it off, I savored a blackberry danish. Hadn’t had a danish in years, and the phrase, “you’d never know it was vegan,” is a profound understatement.

Love supporting the only vegan restaurant in Hood River! - Edit
I tried the tempeh BLT (but made it a salad instead of a sandwich) and the tempeh was honestly very delicious! The second best tempeh I've had (after the tempeh I've had in Bali). Really cute spot and friendly service! All the sandwiches had a great plant based protein (tofu, jackfruit, oyster mushrooms)

Thank you again, Happy Cow peeps for the recommendations for this delicious place! The sandwiches are very large and everything is made here fresh, including the potato chips and the pickles. And their potato salad...wow! Wonderful flavors, interesting ingredient combinations, and just a cute little spot right in the center of town. Even the meat eaters in my group were happy!

We love Golden Goods! Today my husband had the tempeh and avocado BLT with garlic aioli and he loved it. Best tempeh ever! I chose the delicata squash special which included slaw, cherries, cream cheese and spicy mustard — so yummy. And don’t miss the pastries, especially the blackberry danishes.
