We ordered food for pick up from here on a road trip after reading on Happy Cow that they had a vegan menu. We weren't able to find the reported vegan menu online, but found the regular menu online and said very clearly and repeatedly when calling in our order that we wanted everything vegan. When we picked up our order, one of the dishes had a bunch of shrimp in it. We went back in, pointed to the vegan menu and stressed that we wanted vegan dishes, but they kept asking if we wanted chicken. After all of that, the re-made dish (though I'm not sure if it was actually re-made, as there seemed to be a few small pieces of shrimp in it as well) had egg throughout. Very disappointing experience.
I much prefer their Holyoke counterparts but I still go here often for vegan Chinese. I am a sucker for seasame tofu and white rice. Even my Omni family likes the seasame tofu. And I always have enough for lunch the next day.
My partner and I always love going out for chinese, but we often feel limited because so many dishes at chinese restaurants are heavily meat based. So it was so nice to find a place with a specific vegan menu that had Chinese classics with mock meat. I had the "chicken" and brocoli and it was yummy! Would definitely recommend as takeout as the restaurant is quite small.
West Springfield has a scant few options for the members of my vegan tribe when eating out. Gold Chopstick opens the door a crack with a recently (-ish) added vegan section to their take-out menu. Gluten-based meats in their dishes are solid, and they have a few veg-only dishes as well. The food is typical takeout fare, but to even *have* the option in the area is an absolute win.
Also: The portions tend to be massive, especially with rice dishes.
