Good portion sizes - Edit
We came to Fig for breakfast. I ordered the vegan breakfast burrito and my partner ordered the veggie spicy eggs, and said they weren’t very spicy. Fillings for both looked very similar. As with all food in Split, it was expensive. The menu does not state oat milk, only almond and soya, but when asked they had it so be sure to ask for oat!

Nope - Edit
I had the sweet potato fries, they were okay but way over priced (€10.50) and my wife had the roasted veggies (€15.00). They weren’t roasted and tasted awful, everything tasted the same.

Great location & food - Edit
We went for breakfast and sat outside which was really nice and very pretty. It was very accommodating. Most meals were not vegan but had a little symbol to show that a vegan option was available. I had guac and roasted tomatoes on toast. The staff were very nice too - they accidentally put egg on my meal but quickly made another one without the egg and even took it off the bill unasked. It is also in Diocletian's Palace which is a lovely location.

The best vegan food I’ve had in Split! - Edit
Only one vegan main dish, Roasted Root Vegetable & Hummus a vegan version. Then the potatoes and fries! The food was delicious!

Veg In The Palace - Edit
What a great place! This was our first meal after arriving in Split. The courtyard seating area is quite nice and there are a few vegan/vegetarian menu options clearly indicated. We had the vegetarian korma and roasted root veggies with hummus (which was surprisingly flavorful). Several other diners were ordering veg options as well. The staff was also the most friendly and attentive of (probably) anyplace we've been in Europe.

Filling, very friendly and attentive staff, buzzing atmosphere! - Edit
Was struggling to find a vegan option in Split so looked at the veg options and luckily stumbled across Split. The place was almost full (a testament to its quality?). The manager / owner who I believe is called Geoff checked for me to see how long it would be for a table for 1. He then came over to chat whilst I was waiting at a table near the bar, explaining the vegan scene (or lack of it thereof) since the pandemic and was happy to give out recommendations (before and after eating at Fig!) of other restaurants and then what I should get on the menu.
Read moreHaving travelled from Dubrovnik six hours by bus and not having eaten anything, I wasn't sure how filling a main would be by itself. The menu is very clear on what's vegan, vegetarian and more, in addition to what can be made vegan / veg. Geoff recommended the roasted root vegetables and hummus (asking for no honey), clarified that the portion sizes are not small and that if I wanted a little bit more, he'd make a bigger plate for me!
When seated (before the timeframe given) I was quickly seen to and when I forgot Geoff's helpful advice, he immediately came over and said he would sort the larger plate. And what a plate it was! I'm still stuffed over an hour later after having eaten it. Really tasty and filling! Geoff came over to chat for a bit before leaving me to finish my plate and then gave me my beer on the house because I said it was fine for three people to sit at the table to my left whilst they awaited their main table (a very reasonable request from him and I had no idea of expectation to get the beer for free from agreeing to it, not that many places would have even asked first!).
I'm genuinely considering going again tomorrow evening and would encourage you to go if you have the chance, with meat options for those not on a veg diet!
Price-wise also much cheaper than Dubvrovnik!
Pros: Reasonably priced for how filling and tasty it is, Very attentive service, Good atmosphere

Absolutely delicious - Edit
Fig is located across the Peristyle Square, but somehow I missed it several times walking by. It has a pretty large terrace and a beautiful restaurant inside. The menu lacks a lot of options for vegan food, but boy, what Fig has is absolutely delicious. I had the Roasted Root Vegetables & Hummus, but never really knew how tasty root vegetables could be until this dish. The hummus was delicious, but for me, the taste of it was overshadowed by sauce of root vegetables. You get a big portion, so I was left full for several hours after. As for dessert, I chose the Walnut Cake (not vegan), which looked beautiful and tasted delicious as well. It was a big slice of cake, which for the price (30 kuna) felt like a lie???
Read moreThe service was great, some of the waitresses were just a little bit too pushy for me. I guess it’s good to check on your customers every once in awhile, but every 7 minutes felt too much for me.

Update: had breakfast the following day at Fig. The vegan breakfast burrito was okay! Bit too sour, spicy and drowned in sauce, but enough to survive until lunch.

Small but mighty - Edit
As others have pointed out, this location of Fig somewhat lacks in vegan options. However what Fig lacked in choice it definitely made up for in flavour. Although I was only able to find one vegan dinner dish (and a "roasted vegetable" one at that) it did not disappoint. Rich and super filling, I was left very pleasantly surprised. Being in such proximity to all the Split sights (the Diocletian's Palace was next door) it was definitely a treat. But be warned, it operates on a first come first serve basis (at the time of writing this review), so expect a little bit of a wait - though ours was only around 5 mins.

You’ll easy find this restaurant as there’s always a queue waiting for a table. The outside area is located in a small court, it’s very nice.

Okey for vegans - Edit
They’re two vegan options on the menu for dinner, but a lot of it can be adapted to make it vegan. Sometimes I don’t think they understand what you want because I asked them to leave out the honey but they didn’t ( I could still taste it). Ate it anyways ofcourse ! I ordered a hummus plate and It is a huge plate so I would even recommend to share it and maybe order some bread or something with it to make it a meal for two😄If you are not able to finish you can ask for a box and get your leftovers for takeout (Please do this , it is a waste of food otherwise😒)

The root veggies were great, but everything else was average to sub par. Vegetable soup was ok, but skip the korma. Expected better taste for the relatively high price.

Really good food but limited - Edit
Really good for breakfast! Can get the California toast (basically guac) on the most amaaaaazing bread with a super fresh salad. The breakfast burrito is really good without eggs or sour cream. They do coffees/iced coffee and usually offer soy milk but hadn’t had their delivery when we were there. Really good service and all staff knowledgeable of the menu. They have a branch in Hvar too with the same menu! We had the curry there which was nice but a bit watery, but again with the amazing bread. And the roast veg and hummus dish don’t be put off it’s actually delicious!!! I thought there’d be nothing to it and I’d be left hungry but it’s sooo tasty. Also got the chimichurri fries but they weren’t that special, and we didn’t need them with the two big mains!
