Best Flat White (and great food) - Edit
Best flat white I've ever had (had it with oat milk). The Emmi's was delicious (smaller portion than I would have liked but still filling). The American pancakes were also very nice. I didn't get them initially as I was deterred by the 'American' part but envied someone else the whole time I was eating, 3 very nice full size pancakes, delicious with the Berry sauce.

We really wanted to like it, the staff was a little slow, the poke wasn't good unfortunately, the cinnamon roll as well. The three of us agreed on it.

Absolutely delicious breakfast bowl here I was craving scrambled tofu and I got what I wanted large portion even save some for dinner. They had a deal on Tuesday but beyond meat burger and a drink very good.

Great menu. I loved the American Pancakes this morning. Perhaps a little on the pricey side but maybe that's just my perspective as a non local. No WiFi might also be important to visitors.

The location is so lovely - in warmer weather you can sit in a green garden which looks so cosy! But indoors is fine as well. I was there for breakfast on a weekday and easily got a table. The menu sounds intriguing. I opted for the tofu scramble and was not disappointed. Portion size is good and the food makes you feel good!

Read moreIt was a bit more expensive than previously listed in menu prices online. We were reminded several times when paying that "tips were not included". This seems to be a common theme in Germany this year, not sure when this has become common.
With high prices, surely tips should be included in a living wage by the owners? And would any tip go to the cooks making the tasty food?

FYI: it was only during corona that a lot of restaurants started accepting card payments and before then, a typical tip in Germany was rounding up plus 1-2€ coins for a normal visit. There are still many people who aren't used to paying with card at restaurants, so the default behavior is not to leave a tip, which would be normal at a clothing store or somewhere else where people usually pay with card.
Read morePersonally, I'm used to it now and the systems make it easy to leave a tip, but for a while I actually thanked the servers for asking. If you talk to them, they'll tell you that it's gotten better but in the beginning, tipping went way down when people started paying with card.
You've stumbled upon an interesting cultural shift here!
Now, if tipping should be a thing at all is a different discussion. 😉

Yeah the shift from cash to card is a big one from the times I've spent in Germany a few years ago! I always wonder though do the owners pass on the tips directly or do they use it partially to cover the debit card machine fees

My friends who have worked in food service have always said to ask if cash tips are better. Apparently it's not too uncommon for there to be an uneven system where the manager gets an unfairly large portion of the tips! But most times when I ask they say the tips get split fairly. A few times they did say cash is better though.

My favorite in Munich! - Edit
My experience at Emmi's Kitchen was the best during my stay in Munich. The exterior of this restaurant is very pleasant, the service was good and efficient and the food divine! Their breakfast burger is simply delicious, as are the pancakes. I'll be back without hesitation!

The food was pretty decent however, the service was just OK. The staff was not very inclined to a larger party and got into an argument with another guest that we heard about wanting them to wait because they were taking a break. Once we got our food. It was pretty good.

Everyone was so nice! Cute little outside terrace and pretty big inside. Love the decor. A little hard to find but they have a little sign on the main street that points down to where it is. We went twice because we loved it so much. Great music. Very accommodating and they were happy I tried to speak German😄Grateful that the server warned us that the pancakes are HUGE definitely too big for one person. They let us get a children’s portion the second time!! Pancakes are pretty dense and we asked for butter the second time (much better with butter). I was hoping they would be fluffier. But lots of options and even had cheesecake!!! I didn’t like the cinnamon bun.
