Average buffet, great dessert - Edit
I was confused by the mixed reviews for DaTerra- some reviewers said that the buffet was only partially vegan, while others said it was fully vegan. So I wasn't sure what to expect. I went there for dinner this evening, and all of the options at the buffet were labelled with a "v" for vegan. Also all of the desserts appeared to be vegan. I got the buffet dinner (€11.50), a lemon juice (€1.65, I think) and a slice of banoffee cake (€3.50). The buffet food was okay, it was tasty but nothing stood out for me. I was disappointed that the vegan quiche was way too sweet, I couldn't finish my slice. The lemon juice was really nice, sour and refreshing. The banoffee pie was the highlight for me, it had a biscuit base, a layer of banana and a layer of whipped cream.

Lots of (mostly) vegan choices! - Edit
The waiter was really friendly and helpful, the food was both healthy and delicious, whithout resorting to the usual drowning in sugar and fat!

Not all vegan, overpriced, okay food - Edit
I enjoyed my lunch here, but there were a few disappointments. The biggest one is that the food wasn’t all vegan because they use milk and cheese for some of their dishes. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet and there was still quite some choice in vegan dishes so I certainly didn’t leave hungry. However, the food itself wasn’t spectacular but just okay, some dishes a bit greasy and bland; and nothing you can’t easily prepare at home. Because of the mediocre quality, I think it’s way too expensive (€16!). And the staff who served us was also way too grumpy and fairly rude. In sum, I’m not going back there, there are much better and friendlier places in Lisbon!

Honestly best restaurant I EVER went - Edit
The food (and service as well), was simply amazing. Honestly best vegan food I‘ve ever had besides home. We‘ve tasted almost everything on the whole buffet, like 20/22 items maybe - the selection was bomb - and literally EVERYTHING was perfection. The taste was great, the pastries, the consistences, the selection, the combinations... I don‘t know, for me as a german it was a whole new experience and we both were totally stunned. The prices however are more then reasonable. Coming to the desserts, great cake selection for portuguese standard, we‘ve had the banoffee cake and it was very nice, possibly a bit to creamy for my taste but perfect for this type of cake. Their biological espresso is also great and cheap. Would totally recommend this to everyone ever visiting Lisbon, also in comparison with seemingly „more-fancy“ restaurants.

Best banoffee I ever ate - Edit
Best banoffee I ever ate including the non vegan ones ! I did not taste the buffet but it is cheap (8€50). During my stay in Lisboa I went to more than 10 different vegan places and what I’ll remember the best in the banofee of DaTerra :)

A good all-you-can-eat buffet - Edit
Da Terra offers an all-you-can-eat vegan buffet in Bairro Alto, that makes it pretty convenient. I went there with a non-vegan friend and we both appreciated the food. It was varied and fresh, sometimes surprising but mostly quite simple. We also tried the desserts that were tasty. On the whole, we had quality food at very decent prices. I recommend the try, the staff was friendly and helpful.

Fresh and diversified - Edit
Great buffet, always has a lot of fresh salads but also more indulgent options so you can choose your own path. Normally there are three hot dishes, which will contain tofu, seitan or soy, the rest will be veggies. Always has a choice of desserts including pastel de nata which is hard to find. Friendly staff, good bio and vegan wine.

Good food, but needs more veggies - Edit
The food here was good, but there was a lot of pastry and bread. I would have loved some more veggies and different types of salads. And also the hot food wasn’t that hot, but everything was really good.

A good option for vegan food in Bairro Alto - Edit
Tried the DaTerra buffet on a Saturday lunch. All of the options were vegan and there was a lot to choose from in the starter/cold food section, from salads and sushi to spreads and focaccia. I was disappointed by how small the selection for hot main dishes was. They had a tofu dish that tasted weird, a puff pastry sort of pie that was nice and two types of rice. I wish there was more offer on that section.
Read moreDidn’t try the deserts nor the drinks.
Kids pay a little under 6€ and adults pay over 11€ on weekends - can’t remember the exact prices.
The restaurant itself was not too busy, the atmosphere and the background music were pleasant and it had a family-friendly vibe.
If you‘re looking for a buffet in Downtown Lisbon, this is a good option.
Pros: Good variety of starters/cold foods, Value for money, Location
Cons: Small selection of main dishes

Amazing pasteis de nata - Edit
We went to the buffet lunch and it definitely hit the spot. The buffet is well presented and the food tasted good. The highlight though was dessert (which comes at additional cost) - the banoffee pie and lemon and lime tart were great and the pasteis de nata outstanding.

We went here for lunch. I found it expensive for the amount of vegan items. Half were vegetarian. Staff were not very friendly. I wouldn’t go back. Take an Uber as it is quite steep walk.

Colorful healthy high end presentation - Edit
Amazing food and ambiance, (clean new modern feel, they put some money into this place)but we were a little grossed out when we saw people bringing their dirty plates back for a refill and touching the serving spoons to the used plate they had just eaten from. This is a recipe to spread disease and is food handling 101. It is hard for me to believe that the local health authorities allow this practice. Where I live it is against the law due to many hepititis A outbreaks before they strictly enforced a mandatory fresh clean plate when returning to the buffet.
Read more5 stars for the food, presentation, and vegan culture: it is some of the best we ever had, but we won't go back at any old time until they sort this out.
Tip: cue up 5 minutes before opening and be the first one through the buffet line so you don't get someone's sloppy seconds in your portion.
(The main picture does not do the food justice it looks very brown fried and unappealing: this is not the reality, the food is colorful, light, healthy, and meticulously presented, don't hesitate - go, but see the tip above and fill up your plate on the first run so you don't inadvertently share with someone you didn't intend to!)
Go to this gem, but go early, and please tell the management to enforce a clean plate rule so this gem of vegan culture can shine at it's full potential!
Pros: Best colorful healthy food at a great price.
Cons: Customers used dirty plates at buffet, nasty!

Poor customer service. Open later than hours posted. - Edit
No consideration for posted open hours. They locked out two families (one with babies and one with elderly) after 12 noon when they were supposed to open. While one employee was snacking herself. Poor customer service and lack of appreciation for their customers. Google reviews share the same feedback.
