Very cute art cafe with interesting food options - Edit
This would be the perfect place for a romantic lunch date or to catch up with a good friend. Food is a little pricey but not outrageous, and portions are generous. The people working here are lovely and welcoming. The cafe itself has only a few tables so this wouldn’t be a place for a big group. It’s so quaint! I rarely make it to the suburbs but glad I stopped in!

Beautiful and friendly place - Edit
I can’t believe I didn’t hear of this cafe earlier. I love supporting fully vegan places, but always struggled when it came to where to go to get a matcha/tea/coffee - but no longer!
Read moreThe staff are absolutely wonderful. Kind, calm, and accommodating. They truly want to make sure you have a wonderful experience. They are a small staff, so don’t expect a quick bite to eat. Everything is done with care and precision — you can really tell the amount of love they put into what they do.
The food was great! Much more flavorful than I was anticipating for such a small cafe! I had the basil wrap and it was phenomenal! The tofu in the wrap was well seasoned and I believe it was baked. I typically can’t stand baked tofu (I prefer sautéed or fried), but the moisture retained well and didn’t dry out (like baked tofu usually does). I love the vegan cheese they use, it melted perfectly — I wonder which kind! The vegetables of the day served on the side were delightfully spiced with aromatics. The wrap including the side of vegetables was $20, which is quite a steep price for a small wrap, but I believe the price makes sense for the ingredients used, the atmosphere, and the style of dining. The matcha is authentic and my husband said his coffee was one of the best cups he’s ever had.
As for the shop - what an amazing place to find some unique gems! I ended up buying a pair of brass vintage earrings and I love them so much! The art displayed is extremely interesting, and I love the tributes they pay to each artist. The jewelry is stunning and I loved seeing the faux-leather wallets made from leaves and the thick vegan scarf they had for sale (I could’ve sworn it was wool from how well crafted it was, but thankfully it’s vegan!).
My only critique (that doesn’t even deserve a star reduction) is the cell/internet service in the cafe did not work while I was in. I would’ve loved to work on my article while I was there and may have stayed a lot longer and enjoyed a cup of tea, but I was on deadline and had to leave to work on it. They may have private wifi, but I didn’t ask as they were very busy.

Beautiful cafe with quality ingredients and artful presentation - Edit
I recently had the wonderful experience of dining here for the first time since they changed to a 100% vegan menu. My husband and I really enjoyed our beverages, meal and dessert. This is a cozy and beautiful place to meet for coffee/tea or beverage with friends. Full dining offers several options that I look forward to trying next time we return. This trip we had the oat milk fig latte and the BEST hot chocolate along with the 7 spice tofu wrap and vanilla cake for dessert. The owners are lovely and pay careful attention to details in presentation, taste and quality of each dish.
Read moreUpdate: we now come here frequently, pretty much one to two times a week or more if we want the **BEST ICED OR HOT CHOCOLATE ANYWHERE!!!** The BBQ Tofu is one of our fave dishes.
They have recently started a weekly “snug soup” series December 2025 with their amazing comforting soups available for take out on Fridays. Check their website for current selection and don’t miss it!

Hidden Gem! - Edit
There's not too many all-vegan restaurants in the Chicago suburbs, so finding this was so wonderful! And everything we had was WONDERFUL! The staff were so friendly. There's a one-page menu with unique options (most things I've never tried before). Everything was cooked fresh and delicious. We had each of the mini cakes for desert, and they were all delightful! The Matcha cake was the best! The atmosphere was so beautiful. The gallery was a fun walk-through... and did I mention the staff were incredible!

Best vegan food in the suburbs! - Edit
The basil pesto wrap & polenta medallions are amazing. Their matcha cake is also really good. The owners are extremely nice & friendly. They even have a rewards system that eventually you get $5 off! I will definitely be back.

Very cute artsy cafe - Edit
Our experience eating here was great. The sevice was wonderful. Our server was super nice and helpful. The menu was small but the food was delicious. The food combinations in the wraps were unique which created a meal we wouldn't have made for ourselves but so glad we tried. The desserts were incredible. Cherry is not my favorite flavor because it often tastes artificial but the bon bon cakes with cherry sauce were absolutely delicious. It tasted like fresh cherries. They use frozen coffee ice in the ice coffee so it doesn't get watered down. This kind of thoughtful touch was present in both the food and the ambiance. It had a little art shop next to it which gave the cafe a cozy feel. We will definitely be going back.

Do not miss this spa-like Vegan cafe - Edit
Coquelicot is the perfect little place to chill and enjoy great vegan food. It has been on my 'Vegan restaurant must-visit list' for a year now, and we're glad we made the trip (my wife and I, driving from St. Charles to their cafe in Palatine).
Read moreWe each ordered different wraps, and the food was delicious and the perfect size. The 'bites', little balls of chocolate and coconut or raspberry, were tasty as well, as was the vanilla cake for dessert.
There aren't enough little restaurants like this one in existence, so it's great to find one. Check them out today (unless today is Sunday or Monday, if so you'll have to wait until they reopen on Tuesday!)
Enjoy!
Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service
Cons: No location in St. Charles ;), No complaints

Needs to work out kinks - Edit
This restaurant is new, so they get some leeway.
Read moreThe service was slow. The servers were super nice, though. That might just be a byproduct of staff performing both service and food prep.
Drinks are fantastic. Dessert is very good, especially the vanilla cake. The food menu is very small. That isn’t a bad thing per se, but there are some items on the menu that weren’t received well and it’s a lot of tofu (on the menu and on your plate).
The food highlights are the mango green salad and smoked-spice tofu wrap. This might be the best salad I’ve had in my entire life.
The location is a bit out of the way, not to mention it’s in the burbs. I wonder if more Asian items on the menu would attract the meat eaters. Also, I think adding soup to the menu would very beneficial!
