Coming from Berlin we might be spoiled for vegan Vietnamese options. Food was good, a bit too fatty, so be careful if you have a sensitive stomach. The soup had a great herbal flavour.

Locations is pretty noisy due to the open window front in the summer.

Als Vorspeise wählte ich Wan Tan, mein Partner wählte die Wan Tan Suppe.
Die Wan-Tan-Vorspeise war einfach köstlich. Perfekt gebraten boten sie eine knusprige Hülle, in der sich eine üppige, rein pflanzliche Füllung befand.
Zusammen mit der delikaten Sauce war jeder Bissen ein Genuss.
Auch die Wan-Tan Suppe war aromatisch sehr gut abgestimmt.
Leider konnte der Hauptgang nicht an die Vorspeisen anknüpfen.
Es war zwar solide, aber es fehlte der Wow-Effekt..
Die Zubereitung war gut, aber es fehlte die Innovation und die Präsentation, die die Vorspeisen so besonders gemacht haben.
Trotzdem war mein Besuch im Com Chay insgesamt sehr positiv. Die Vorspeisen und die Suppe waren hervorragend und die Getränkeauswahl war auch sehr gut.
Hätte der Hauptgang das gleiche Niveau erreicht, hätte ich keine Sekunde gezögert, fünf Sterne zu vergeben. Daher vergebe ich vier von fünf Sternen und empfehle das Restaurant allen Veganern und allen, die die pflanzliche Küche genießen möchten.

There were so many appealing things on this fully vegan menu that I had a lot of trouble deciding! I chose the Pho Hanoi and a pot of jasmine tea. Very happy with both. Just what I needed on this chilly winter day.

Auf dem Weg durch die Stadt sind wir spontan an dem Com Chay vorbei gekommen und spontan rein. Das Essen war unglaublich flott auf dem Tisch und hat richtig gut geschmeckt. Die Deko ist etwas wild, aber das Ambiente passt. Der Laden ist jetzt auf jeden Fall auf der Liste für einen erneuten Besuch.

Very good food and lots of options, the atmosphere was not that nice as it is located right next to a construction site at the moment and in an alley where people pass by you all the time. The restaurant itself was very nicely decorated and the food came really quickly. Overall good experience!

Read moreMannheim's most recent all-vegan place! We went there for dinner with a group of people. They were having some issues with the seating and the service at the beginning, but that might have been due to the fact that is was a very busy time - 8 p.m. on a Saturday - and the place is brand new. It got better after a while, and the food was good! The owners are also open to suggestions on improvements. Will definitely go there again to try out some more of the menu. It's great to have an Asian restaurant in the city, where you can choose anything from the menu without having to think about whether the dish is vegan. You can find their menu online - it has quite some interesting stuff on it!
