Awful experience

We had a horrific experience on the 30/05, my birthday, at Changomango. I had asked ahead if they had gluten free items and was assured that they did.

On arrival we asked using Spanish terms, and in English, what was gluten free. We also asked using Google translate. We made sure we were absolutely completely abundantly clear in our communication of this need, and they indicated that they had understood. Again we asked, prior to eating, were they certain it was gluten free and again told that it was. I was admittedly dubious at that stage but servers were adamant. When we got the bill I noticed one of the burgers was marked as seitan.

They of course required payment for this poisoning and yet oddly didn't "claim the payment" and told us that we hadn't paid (I have screenshot, we did). I tried to use two different payment transfer apps and neither worked, it's possible from investigation that they are under review for suspected fraud (which could cause both the card and transfer issue), or they just decided they wanted to be paid in cash and provided details that would not work. We asked to leave our wagon and belongings so my partner could get cash and I could leave to take charcoal, and they refused to allow this. This went on for a little over an hour, as I struggled to get a payment through so we could leave. 

The communication with the manager has been very sorely lacking, he would not even reply to confirm that the takeaway burger we had purchased did indeed include wheat bread, as we started to realize no amendments had been made to the meal. In chat app he apologized for "inconvenience" (payment issue I presume) but not an inkling of an apology for being served gluten and then being held hostage. Instead the suggestion this was a language issue- despite the staff presumably having basic literacy. Yes, mistakes can be made, but the bread and "meat" of a burger, multiple different types of bread? 

My partner is coeliac, the rest of us have an intolerance not tested for coeliac. We have all had issues relating to the ingestion of gluten. My child complained of a stomach ache while still there. My partner then had diarrhea, he still has cramps. Our disabled child had a seizure the following day (only one of a few we have witnessed), and hasn't stopped verbally stimming (shouting) since. The following night he didn't sleep at all, just shouted, and this morning my partner's phone and money were stolen when they napped on a bus. They got paid though!

Pros: The food was nice, we would have eaten there again, I can't give 1 star, Happy Cow doesn't allow, I did dummy payments to other MX a/cs, screenshot

Cons: Fed gluten almost certainly knowingly , Held hostage as they messed up a card payment , Disinterested staff, irresponsible manager
