Pizza with a twist - Edit
There are several local pizza chains in the area with good Happy Cow reviews. We chose this one because of the unusual toppings. We were tempted by the protein bowls, but went for a large pizza to share among three people. We got the one with mashed potatoes. We had a pizza with potato slices years ago, and loved it, so we were curious about how mashed potatoes would work. It was great.
Read moreThe pizza was cooked just right, with the crust fully cooked, but not overdone. They did not skimp on the toppings. The only questionable part was the cheese. We usually get our pizza without cheese because we are picky about which vegan cheeses we eat. This one melted nicely, and had a good taste, but it was a bit overpowering. We asked for them to go light on the cheese, but even so they overdid it. Maybe they didn't get the message in the kitchen, though.
Brickyard Hollow is also a brewery, and we tried three of their beers and liked them all.

Oh wow, wood fired pizza with non-dairy cheese and a gluten free crust (not sure if the crust was also vegan). It's a rare find. Fast and friendly place to get a delicious, casual meal.

Loved the vegan pepperoni pizza. Great flavor and nice amount of cheese. Crust was excellent too. Vegan cheese comes with the vegan pepperoni pizza too which is huge, because usually it costs extra!!!

Finally vegan food in Freeport - Edit
I’ve been coming to Freeport off and on for years and have had a hard time finding vegan friendly places. I was happy to see this time that this place, with its own craft beer has vegan cheese and plant based chicken. My husband and I shared a pizza and a tofu bowl. He enjoyed a beer. However the food was ok and the service was slow and not great even there there were very few people in the place.

Yummy vegan pizza! We were able to add vegan cheese and plant based chicken. 3 stars because it made it extra expensive.

there is a tofu bowl and vegan cheese options for any pizza, no plant-based meats though… they also made my pizza with normal cheese initially and I had to have it remade
