Amazing food ! - Edit
I love the food here so much, the portions are big and the selection is good. There is a nice nice mix between Mexican style dishes or just a burger and fries if you want that too but they are all made exceptionally well.
Read moreThere are plenty of Vegan options on their own or just by taking out the queso or having a lettuce wrap with a burger instead of a bun. The food is fresh to order which always makes it taste better too.
This is a definite must stop spot if you are on Holbox. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is so welcoming, there’s a really cute garden out back or tables in front to see some action of passers-by; it really is worth going and eating and enjoying the delicious food and drinks that they have.
You’ll be sorry if you don’t go.

Amazing vegan mexican restaurant - Edit
Gorgeous setting in a plant filled garden with delicious and nutritious mexican food. It’s all vegan with a vegetarian section too, no meat or fish served. Loads of choice for mexican style dishes made vegan, beautifully presented. No alcohol served and reasonably priced.

Such a charming & delicious find on tiny Holbox. I worried there would be limited vegan, (I’m mostly vegan, but my partner is full on), options on the island but Arte Sano will be a daily stop it was so fresh and tasty! Alex had fabulous recommendations and I can’t wait to try ALL the dishes! Bright flavours and tremendous variety.

Vim tomar café da manhã e voltei pro jantar! No café a atendente foi muito querida e me deixou experimentar uma quesadilla com queijo vegano (pedi uma unitária, o que não tinha no cardápio), e tive que voltar pra janta pra comer o prato completo, que vem com arroz, feijão e salada! Muito gostoso!

Some of the most amazing vegan Mexican food I have ever had. Traditional vegan dishes (enmoladas, aguachiles, chile rellenos, etc) and everything was absolutely delicious. We ate here 3 times during our stay in Holbox and tried as many dishes as possible. The horchata was perfect, the tinga de jamaica was incredible, and I loved the mushroom aguachile especially. the service is so kind and warm and the place is really cute—such great ambiance. If you are veg / vegan you cannot miss this spot. They also have breakfast/ brunch but sadly we didn’t make it for that. It was cash only when we went, closed Mondays, and the address is different than what is listed here but if you walk around look for a sign on a nearby corner that will point you to the right direction. I hope I can go back someday soon! Incredible!!

Quality food, everything was fresh and well made. We ate there few times. we took smoothies, tacos with soy "meat" and veg, guacamole, soy seviche. Everything was delicious! And the staff was friendly.

the first thing we noticed was how understaffed the restaurant was. the staff were clearly very overwhelmed, all three times we ate here. the first time we ate here, we spent a lot more time than usual ordering because the menu was very confusing and there were dishes which were not vegan despite the restaurant being advertised as being fully vegan. the first time we ate here, the food came after a littler longer than a reasonable amount of time but they took an extra 25 minutes to get out my sisters food after they served my mother and i at the same time. this was disappointing and disrupted the meal. i got the tostadas with the mushroom and onion stew on top and it was pretty yummy. the tostadas were a massive serving but they were plated beautifully. for dessert, we got the fried bananas and it was rly delicious. the second time we ate here, i got the vegan cheese quesadillas and they were also good. this restaurant has pretty big serving sizes which made it easy to share with my family. i also made a custom smoothie with just pineapple and kiwi blended with ice. i love that they dont add extra sugar or juice to the smoothies. the fruit by itself tastes the best. the third time we ate here was for brunch instead of dinner. i ordered the hazelnut cream waffles and asked our waiter if the hazelnut cream was vegan. he asserted to me that it was. then, when my food came, i was certain just by looking tht the hazelnut cream was nutella. i called him back and he told me again tht it was vegan so i asked if he could get the jar for me and show me what the chef used. he disappeared for 15 minutes and came back with a jar of peanut butter and told me he would switch the nutella out for peanut butter. this made me extremely uncomfortable, realising tht arte sano has multiple vegetarian ingredients that i was not aware of ... and our waiter was clearly unaware of this and unintentionally misguided me. im just glad i could tell it was nutella by looking and not by tasting. i didnt end up eating because when i asked him if the waffles had milk in them he told me they did before immediately contradicting himself and saying tht they did not. i felt disgusted that for all i knew this restaurant could have fed me a non - vegan ingredient in any one of the meals i ate here. it rly ruined my meal and caused me anxiety for the rest of our time in holbox. im disappointed by the lack of knowledge among the waitstaff despite the restaurant being advertised as fully vegan.
