Can’t believe this is vegan - Edit
Let me tell you, the food at A&J is sooo good you start to wonder if someone is tricking you. Most of the sweets and breads are top notch, especially the croissants and donuts. Sure, it probably contains a lot of sugar but it’s too good too pass. They also serve some savory things, such as a sandwich with mock salmon, or a sandwich with hummus and “cheese”. I have tried both and they do taste more vegan to me, if you know what I mean, but they are good nonetheless. I cannot recommend this place enough. Whenever you go, be sure to go as early in the day as possible because things do tend to get sold out - and I don’t blame them!

Best croissant ever! - Edit
*From the 7th of October 2018 they are permanently closed. At least for this location for now.*
Read moreJust had a friend visiting us in Germany who brought their croissants with him. The plain croissants (1.2€ each) were very tasty, especially after heated in the oven for like a minute or two. It has traveled 24 hours so was a bit dry when not heated. The pistachio croissant (a bit pricier than the plain croissant) was also good with generous amount delicious pistachio creme. Shame that I forgot to ask for pain au chocolat.. the friend said that the croissant sandwich with carrot lox (vegan salmon) was also very good (6€).
Pros: All vegan, Amazing croissant, Lots of hard-to-find vegan pastry options
Cons: A bit too far away from where I live

Amazing Place - Edit
What a great place! When we were there everything was vegan and we tried various sweet and savoury things. All of it was extremely good, the place is cute and cozy and the owner was super friendly. Try it when you are in Utrecht!

Amazing idea! - Edit
This place is honestly like 90% vegan, and their stuff tastes like the authentic stuff. You have to come here if you haven’t; you won’t be disappointed 😍

Lovely bakery - Edit
Such a lovely bakery with delicious pastries. Everything expect one cake was vegan. Owned by two chefs from Italy who seem keen on experimenting and creating even more vegan options. Will be back soon to try out more!
