Did not knock my socks off - Edit
I was kind of bummed that this wasn't an exclusive Indian restaurant. I guess I'm typically not in the mood to get Tikka masala and bibimbab in the same meal. A lot of the Indian dishes were made with nuts. When I asked the waiter about it, he said it was to make it creamy because they're also primarily gluten free, which seems weird because there are many easy ways to make a dish like chana masala, creamy without dairy or nuts.

Quel beau petit resto - Edit
Quel beau accueil! Personnel sympathique! Beau petit resto, les prix sont abordables! Attention, si vous n'aimez pas les plats épicés, ne vous aventurez pas avec un Tikka Masala 😅

The food and service are TOP NOTCH! We went once, enjoyed our selections, and ended up coming back four more times in one week! Everything is made fresh and in-house, gluten free, no added sugars and still delicious! We would highly recommend the Indian -inspired brunch! Abhi and his staff are the BEST!

Vegan Heaven - Edit
My sister and I had brunch/lunch there on a Saturday. We ordered and shared 3 dishes, a side of millet chapati and tamarind mocktails. Everything was awesome. We had the lentil idlli, the sampler and the badji burger on lettuce rather than a bun. I'm happy he highly recommended the burger it was one of the best burgers we've ever had. Next time we don't want to share our burgers but to each have our own. Needless to say we left very full and happy.
Read morePros: Open 7 days a week., Lots of GF options., Food is both healthy & tasty.

Warm atmosphere, special tastes - Edit
Wonderful service. We were guided through the menu in enthusiastic detail. The food was so tasty and not just vegan versions of dishes you could get at any Indian restaurant. The seasonal appetizers and desserts were also great! Would absolutely go again!!

The best Vegan Indian food - Edit
As a fellow restaurant owner, I really appreciate when a place gets both the food and the service right, and Tula absolutely does. The team is warm, attentive, and clearly cares about the guest experience. The food is outstanding—rich, authentic Indian flavors and beautifully executed vegan dishes. Every plate felt thoughtful and full of flavor. Tula is doing something special, and it shows. Highly recommend supporting them!

Vegan Indian food!! - Edit
Had such a good experience here. Staff and food were amazing. The staff here went above and beyond. I had the mango lassi, butter chicken, turmeric latte, and ratalyache dhondas (dessert on seasonal menu.) Everything tasted so good, would definitely be back when in Montreal!

It was our first time there, we took the lunch thali. Very tasty, not heavy or greasy and beautiful to the eye also.
Read moreThe service by Abhi was quick and very sympathetic plus he explained everything into details and gave us good pieces of advice. The " golden milk" was especially good. Lots of attention to details and everything is made of healthy non processed ingredients. We will go back.

a true delight - Edit
set in a cozy, warm atmosphere, we experienced some of the best food and service we've had. i didn't realize dining could have so much heart. we shared a mango lassi and each ordered a thali (which, as were told, rotate monthly based on offerings). the thali took slightly longer to come out since they were busy but despite it being a non-issue our server was very apologetic. everything was incredibly balanced, fresh, and burst with flavor.
Read morethe owner told us that he'd remember us the next time we come and whenever we're in montreal, you know we will 💓

Super friendly service, our server went over the whole menu to share her favorites. Everything we had was delicious, and the owner even stopped by to chat and had been to some of our favorite vegan spots in philly

Delicious! - Edit
Came here for dinner with 2 meat eaters, 1 vegetarian, and 1 vegan. Everyone LOVED the food. There were lots of great options and the owner of the restaurant personally discussed the menu with us and made recommendations based on our preferences. They customized my dish according to my preferences as well. We will definitely be back next time we visit montreal!

As good as it looks - Edit
It seemed overly hyped to me, but it was just as good as everyone has described. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and my wife got the black channa ghassi. We each thought our dishes were perfect. The restauranteur recommended we should have gotten the thali.... next time! Only thing to be prepared for is the kinda new age vibe. Made me skeptical that the food would be authentic but it was fantastic!

Excellent vegan Indian cuisine - Edit
I went there for my birthday and it was an excellent food! I ordered the vegan tikka masala with plant based chicken, with rice on the side (17,99$) and a mango lassi (~8$). It was really really good and spicy! I was surprised by the chicken consistency which made me think of jackfruit but I liked it. I was really happy that I could finally eat the vegan version of an Indian dish usually made with meat.
Read moreThe place was almost empty I it was really chill and intimate. The owner of the place came to our seats to chat with us and was really nice.
I would come back for sure if I’m craving Indian cuisine, even though it’s quite expensive - but it’s worth it for special occasions.
Edit : I came back quite some time later because I was craving some Indian food. The lassi is now 10$, so quite expensive, but it is really really good. I took the tikka massala again but I was a bit disappointed cause I think since then I had better faux-meat textures and there’s not enough rice so the proportions are not good.

Pros: Excellent food , Nice place and owner
Cons: Certainly not cheap
tula.montreal
Thanks for the good comments but highly disappointed seeing you take us 4 stars from 5. You visited us in 2023 and now in 2025. A $2 hike in price is very normal in 2 years given the inflation- hike in rent, raw materials cost and salaries and most operating costs in general. This is the reason why most vegan restaurants do not survive. Customers want to pay the same price they paid 2 years ago.

Excellent food and wonderful mood - Edit
We tried the tasting platter and the butter chicken. The food was spectacular, and they tailored it to our palates (not accustomed to very spicy food). The owner was not only very helpful, but also very nice. We enjoyed chatting with him after lunch. The place is beautiful, decorated with good taste and with a tranquil music background. One of my favorite restaurants in Montreal!
