More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

It started after I had a heart attack on 9/4/15. Because I was so young (41 y.o.) my doctor asked me to watch a documentary called Forks Over Knives. It was life changing for my family and I. All of my risk factors have been reduced since going vegan!

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

During a trip to San Diego, we stopped at a vegan restaurant and one of the patrons there told us about the app. We've been using it ever since.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

I find that my taste buds have already changed. I find that I crave a big salad a few times a week. I always have a fresh fruit bowl in my fridge that I prepare for the whole family to enjoy. My family's favorite guilty pleasure are the vegan donuts from the Donuttery in Huntington Beach!

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

I know that for many vegans, it's not about healthy eating, it's about sparing animals from their plight. I have definitely found myself as an animal advocate since becoming vegan, but for me, it started with Forks Over Knives. The positive effects on health did it for me and it has already started to work. After following up with documentaries like, Cowspiracy, Earthlings, etc., it only strengthened my resolve to follow this lifestyle.
