Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I prefer to eat vegetarian because it encourages me to keep a healthy diet and lifestyle. I do eat fish because I like to vary my protein and starting noticing that I was lacking essential Omega-3s. Vegetarianism and Pescatarianism are both fantastic ways of life that help a person be more conscious of their health.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I joined after stumbling upon the website. I noticed a friend of mine had left a review for a local restaurant, and that convinced me to join myself. This is a fantastic resource for vegans, vegetarians, and all others who have eliminated meat from their diets. I am very excited to try new local vegetarian restaurants that I had no idea were in my area.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I haven't been many places. I've been to all of New England (living here, that's pretty easy to accomplish), Florida, Louisiana, New York, and D.C. I would love to travel to Europe and my boyfriend and I have a plan to eventually take a cider tour of England when we have the funds to travel. I would also love to go to Canada because it is so close and I've been told it's beautiful.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I love making my own BBQ tofu with all the BBQ sauces I pick up at fairs and festivals. My boyfriend, who is an avid meat eater and jerky maker, loves my BBQ tofu. I am also a huge fan of roasted asparagus with garlic and oil. Put the two together, and they make an amazing meal. Both are fantastic on chunky slices of toasted multigrain bread.

A friend just got me a year subscription to Vegetarian Times magazine. The recipes are fantastic, healthy, and many are simple and quick. I would definitely recommend this to any vegetarian who loves to cook!
