Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I'm vegan because it makes sense. Convenience and tradition are poor excuses for maintaining an omnivorous diet.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
Happy Cow is the most reliable site for vegan restaurant info and it's available everywhere! It's the best vegan travel tool around.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Barcelona was a bastion of amazing vegan food. I'm really looking forward to Berlin this summer so I can see how it compares.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I'm not a huge fan of sweets, but I can't pass up trying vegan pastries because they're so rare. There's a cafe in Barcelona with chocolate-filled croissants! How can I say no to that?
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Eat Like Your Care: An Examination of the Morality of Eating Animals, by Gary Francione and Anna Charlton. It lists every excuse under the sun and provides sound reasoning as to why they aren't sufficient.
