More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

When people ask me why I eat a plant based diet, I respond "Why not?" Mostly for my own health and the environment, but it's also cool not to kill animals.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I joined Happy Cow to rate some of my favourite places for plant based food!

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Toronto was an awesome city that I got to spend a few days in and I can't wait to someday go back, but PEI is home and an incredible one at that.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Pineapple, Mango, bananas, grapes, cherries, brussel sprouts, asparagus, spinach, corn, mushrooms, rice, potatoes, carrots, avocado, black beans, tomato, quinoa, almonds, walnuts...A vegan diet is so boring and restrictive, right?

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

If you are considering eliminating meat, dairy, and eggs from your diet, read The China Study and your decision will be made. I also like Eat to Live and The Starch Solution for lots of tips on eating a healthy, whole foods based diet. Skinny Bitch is a bit of a lighter read, but if you aren't a reader, Food Inc. and Forks Over Knives are pretty convincing documentaries.
