Organic non-hippy vegan, ok maybe hippy in spirit but i bathe and can't stand patchouli so i can't qualify for full hippy status. I just moved from Tacoma to Corvallis in the hopes of finding something greener outside the armpit which is Tacoma. It's hard to find others following a vegan lifestyle, even in Cv, harder so than I would have thought. I love the rain, farmers markets, cooking, hiking and reading. I'm a smartass and am high on life. i socialize better in small groups, i tend to be more introverted around many people. i like all types of music except country and gospel and sing when nobody else is within earshot.

More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

first for health reasons (pus does NOT do a body good), next for the environment and ethical reasons.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

to meet more veg minded folk, build my vegan circle with other knowledgable people. it seems difficult to meet veg heads, even in the pacific northwest.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

i love astoria, oregon, i just wish it was more veg friendly. as far as finding veg friendly culture, cities tend to be where it's at. small towns, which i love, seem to have the opposite culture of what i crave even if they have a quaint and cozy atmosphere. anyone know of a 'progressive' small town?

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

chocolate/peanutbutter tofu pie. graham cracker crust. chopped choc covered pretzels on top. ho boy!

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

china study, t colin campbell was very informative. mad cowboy and no more bull by howard lyman were educational but packed with humor.
