Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I travel extensively and have used Happy Cow to help me navigate vegan restaurants. I really pay attention to the reviews and advise. Happy Cow has been very important to me since it originated.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
The Millennium in San Francisco, Cafe Gratitude and Dosa in San Francisco. I love Planet Hollywood in Santa Monica and many vegan restaurants around the world. Native foods is really great in Southern California, they are really creative and the quality is always consistently fresh.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I love simple things like fresh fruit and raw vegetables, simmered mung, garbanza and adzuki beans with quinoa and brown rice, the mung salad and the beet soup at Dosa is San Francisco is the most amazing dishes i have ever tried. Every at the Millennium in San Francisco is a work of art. Alive in San Francisco is also creative.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
John Robbins books and movies on the environment and animal rights is very compelling. He is a true legend in the animal activist and environmental movement. I wish that everyone would read his books and adhere to his philosophy. The environment is crumbling under the weight of animal agriculture and the abuse that animals suffer is immoral and unethical.
