It's fun to say this: I am a vegan pacifist martial artist, writer, and thinker who grew up (mostly) near Detroit, MI and San Antonio (New Braunfels), TX. I am Aristotelian by thought. I write and blog about challenging conventional thinking and sharing my journey (check it out; it will help keep your mind fresh). I read a lot, but a lot less than I would like to. I choose Ayn Rand over Stephen King and Seth Godin over Seth Rogan... but who wouldn't? I own no television and no microwave. No television because I believe it is the antidote to thinking, and no microwave because I believe it is creepy to flood food with radiation ...and then eat it.

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
It is the logical choice. If we can eat without causing suffering to other animals or sacrificing taste, convenience, or nutrition, then... why wouldn't we?
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
To be part of the community and help vegans or the vegan-curious understand what this choice is all about and, of course, to find great food!
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Bartertown, Cult Pizza, Stella's, Spoonlickers, Anarchy Burger, Marie Catrib's, The Mitten, Harmony Brewing, Brick Road Pizza... those are most of my favorites in the Grand Rapids area.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Pizza, cheese(less) cake, cupcakes, burritos, french toast, soups... pretty much anything outside of your standard garden salad and plain toast.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
The Miracle of Food (movie), The China Study (book), The Omnivore's Dilemma (book and movie), Atlas Shrugged (book, not the movies).
