More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I follow a vegan lifestyle because I believe it is unnecessary to harm or use animals to be healthy, happy and well-fed. I believe that the health of our environment requires humans to stop depleting resources and poisoning our water/air through animal agriculture.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

It's a great way to celebrate restaurants around the world that provide vegan and vegetarian options, and is an invaluable resource when traveling!

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

One of my favourite cities in the world is Beijing. I've also thoroughly enjoyed my trips to Reykjavik! The two cities provide a great contrast to each other :)

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Tofu everything! Though I definitely have a soft spot for pasta, veggie dumplings, and kale (though maybe not all at the same time).

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

Earthlings was the film that finally convinced me to transition from a vegetarian to a vegan diet. Cowspiracy also provides a great argument for the environmental consequences of animal agriculture. A great read is 'Sociology on the Menu' - it delves into the social norms of eating meat, and has helped me to better understand the various barriers veganism faces in today's society (and how to overcome them!).
