More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I've only been a nurse for about a year now, but my first job has been working at a nursing home and so everyday I see firsthand the consequences of living an unhealthy lifestyle. I've also broken away from the former disconnect I used to have regarding meat and where it comes from. I would never kill an animal myself for food so why turn a blind eye when others do it for me?
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I hope to be able to travel more in the future and I need a place where I can find healthy veg options wherever I go.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I grew up in Southern Spain and in Yokohama, Japan (it's really close to Tokyo) and I loved both places. I really want to do more traveling. I am hoping to see more of Europe especially in future. I also want to use my knowledge as a nurse to maybe take part in some humanitarian aid missions.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Tofu, mushrooms, brown rice, unsweetened almond milk, vegan Indian, sprouted grain cereals, squash, lentils, hummus with carrots.......................
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
A Map for Saturday, The Face on Your Plate (my veg gateway book), VegNews Magazine, Realm and Britain magazines (magazines about touring Great Britain--I'm a huge anglophile), and then I read books and comics in Japanese to keep up my skills
