More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Vegan for the animals!
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
Been very helpful to me while travelling, so I wanted to help others in the same way.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
In love with Japan and have been 5 times, found some amazing vegan places there. Would like to visit U.S. especially vegan meccas like California and Portland.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
This is incredibly difficult for me. Sweet potatoes, vegan cheesecake, homemade pizza with good vegan cheese, and tempeh bacon are contenders.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
My Year of Meats by Ruth Ozeki. Although it's a novel, it takes a very close and critical look at the American meat industry and particularly how they target the Japanese market. Many people seem to imagine Japan as a good place to be vegan/vegetarian, when it is in fact fairly meat obsessed.
